Just received the Markhor and looking it over I am not noticing a hoseport. The website does list it for the pack. Anyone else notice this or can tell me where it is haha?!

It's between the two shoulder straps right behind your neck. It should be right at the same level as the hypalon sleeve, but it is hard to

Typically there is one 2-3 inch horizontal slot up at the top of the bag. Its kinda built into the seam and can be tricky to spot at first.

Will the Argali and Markhor work well on the 22" frame? Or is just the Tahr the recommended choice?

I am looking for my first Kifaru pack, I have always had a zipper at the bottom and like the highcamp because of it. The 3 compression straps of the Markhor seems like it could be real handy. Will I miss not having a zipper at the bottom? Could one be added? Also how well does the Markhor work having a spotting scope hanging off the back? I have never carried a spotter but will be doing so next year. I have always carried the heaviest items near my shoulders and was wondering what the purpose was hanging it off the back opposed to the sides. I'm sure there is one, just don't have enough experience to know why. Thanks for your help!

We already offer the Timberline which has side pockets on it for the spotting scope. There's nothing that says you need to put your spotting scope on the back either, you could always put it in a side pocket on the side of the pack. It's just another option for people to choose from.

As far as the bottom entrance goes, I personally don't use it, but again, we have multiple other packs with bottom access.

Also, having the spotting scope on the back of the pack allows you to compress the pack a bunch without putting compression on your actual spotting scope. It also makes for a much quicker access when day hunting.

I will have to give You/Kifaru a call when I'm ready to purchase. Just when I think I know what I want you guys come out with another great pack. Thanks for response.

Justin, looking at your pack (a lot I don't know) made me wonder if you gave the Tahr any consideration? thx

I'm not looking to question motives, but was there a particular reason that you guys decided to put spots for 9 belt pouches on the Tahr, which is the smallest, but only 5 on the two larger packs?

Doesn't really bother me as I am looking at the Tahr out that group anyways.

Look at the specs L/W/H on the Markhor vs. Tahr, very little difference in those measurements (only depth and top circumference differ between the two) but much in added cubic inches. I thought I really wanted a Tahr, but after close comparison I'll be opting for the Markhor for it's added cubic inches for only an additional 2 ozs and such very close bag dimensions.

Haha I used the same logic on choosing the argali over the markhor :)

Tahr:
10.5"w x 7.5"d x 32"h
1lb 12 oz
Markhor:
10.5"w x 9"d x 32"h
1lb 12 oz
Argali:
10.75"w x 10"d x 35"h
1lb 14.4oz

Yeah for me it simplified the decision, I already have an EMRII on the way, so I didn't need to go big, but for a daypack/3-5 dayer, the Markhor won out because of those specs right there! Good to see my thinking was on track
