seems a great list but it is heavy on the optice side but if it works for you why not.
For upcoming spring bear. This was my list last year. I’ll have to see if I’ll change much for this year.
The snake system tourniquet is not approved by the committee on trauma. Striker sticks give lots is sparks but are a lot heavier than better alternatives.
CAT tourniquets are better. Sof-T or Sam xt also work but CAT work well one handed and are reliable on children. In the military we used them a lot.
Cool things about the snake staff is that instead of waiting 5 years for some approval you can try it on yourself 5 times and your kids and it’s pretty easy to tell that it works very well at cutting off blood supply to extremities. Watch the videos from the founder and he clearly explains that it’s not a replacement of the CAT but a smaller alternative for concealed or weight conscious use cases. I still carry the CAT for overwork work use but for plain clothes and backpacking the snake staff is perfect.[mention]isleofGough [/mention] what would be a better alternative?
