The Gear I’ll Never Use Again

Liner socks with toes. My toes froze wearing those stupid things. Its like wearing gloves compared to mittens.
Yak wool socks. They dont hold up and I cant tell a difference in warmth compared to my darn tough socks.
Outdoor vitals down booties. I haven't found anything I like about them besides the weight.
OR crocodile gaiters. Broke after 2 hunts. We will see how their warranty is.

Silky saws....the Bahco laplander replaced them and performed better.
Wrangler ATG pants everyone raves about. I've destroyed them so fast and stitching was terrible.
Alpaca socks....a marketing scam. Don't last.
Sawyer mini is a piece of crap.
Yeti products are a scam.
Were they the regular synthetic ATG or the reinforced utility? I’ve never had the synthetic, but the reinforced utility have been great even through thick green briar

The synthetic ones are what I was referring to. They suck. I have the reinforced utility ones and I actually like those.

MSR pocket rocket deluxe kit, the pocket rocket itself is great, the pot and pot grabber they give you in the kit is an absolute pain to use. Ditch the kit and use the stove with a titanium kettle that has a handle attached and works perfect as well as its cuts a few ounces of weight.

-Havalon knives (too fragile for ogre)
-Vortex optics (water intrusion)
-Cheap trekking poles (always breaks in cold temps)
-black gold bow sights on a hunting bow (snapped off the bow at the mount)
-budget archery releases (unsafe)
-Expensive lightweight breathable rain jackets
-soft shell jackets (only useful in town)
-gun oil in cold temps.
-rechargeable headlamps
-bow mounted decoys
-synthetic sleeping bags (FAR inferior durability and warmth)
-jet boil (not versatile and bulky)
-hydrophobic down in sleeping bags (overrated, not better than natural down, not more durable) sadly, it’s hard to get away from at this point but wouldn’t seek it out.
-non flagship truck tires
-any pump shotgun that’s not a rem 870
-mountain house
-modern flagship ultra fast action fly rods (sage one etc)
-Remington centerfire rifle ammunition

This is just a start for me haha.

Magview digi scoping system (SLOW)
Kuiu hunting packs( I’ve busted a ton of them over the years)
Any cartridge large than .284 caliber
Crispi boots (uncomfortable and there repairs service is garbage)

- Silencerco Scythe Ti. Safety first…
- Magnetized bino harnesses. Can’t stand that metallic click
- Anything other than light merino base layers

Dang I've never managed to snap a blade, love my Havalon

Cries in muzzleloader

I had a cheapy Badlands harness that did this, my Marsupial harness is nice though
The havolon is really a personal preference. I’m Too impatient and accustomed to real knives, but completely see why many like them.

Forgot to mention I despise any knife with a skeleton ized Handle/paracord wrap. The small handle is part of why I hate a havalon.

Man I have to stop you on the mountain house.. the old ones, yeah sure I’ll agree with you. but anymore I actually prefer the MH to peak by a mile on taste (yes I know everyone has different tastes). Plus they’re less bulky (yes, I’m also aware they’re less calories in a pack than peak). And cheaper
