The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom

Good Sunday Morning Children of God!

“For this is the day the Lord has made, let us give thanks and be glad!”

Today’s gospel is from the book of John.
Jesus said to his disciples:
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father,
and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows him. But you know him, because he remains with you, and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me, because I live and you will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father and you are in me and I in you. Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.”

Are you actively living or at least trying to live like a disciple of Jesus? In all of last week and today’s gospel Jesus keeps telling His disciples to obey His commands. What command is He talking about?
To LOVE-To love God, with all our hearts, our minds and our souls-and then to Love one another as ourselves. This is His command.
Sometimes it’s really difficult to love someone that doesn’t love us in return. Everyone has difficult relationships. A boss, a relative, a “friend”, maybe a spouse, a neighbor, a colleague, or someone that that has different political views. Society wants and teaches us to tear those relationships apart, to hold grudges and to bicker, argue or take jabs to hurt someone else. Is this how Jesus acted when He was hanging on the cross? No, He said-“Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do”. Jesus even loves the very men that literally nailed Him to a tree. That’s true Love.
Jesus promises to send the helper today. The Holy to those that keep His commands. How has the Holy Spirit helped you this past week? What do you need help with this week and have you asked for help through prayer?

Keeping Jesus’s command of Love ensures our relationship with Him. How horrible would it be at the end of our lives, when we meet Him and He says “Go away from Me, I never knew you because you didn’t make time for me and you didn’t keep my commands”.
Are you going to harden heart and block out love for everyone that He has placed in your life? Or will you accept the gift of the Holy Spirit and forgive those that nail you to the cross?
Jesus-teach us to love like you love us. In Jesus’s name we pray. Amen 🙏🏻
I hope you all have a wonderful day and a great week.
“Go and glorify the Lord with your life”
❤️✝️🙏🏻

“And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.””
‭‭John‬ ‭6‬:‭35‬-‭40‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Those who truly belong to God will not be cast out. Once saved always saved, but remember the parable of the sower, some seeds will fall on stones and sprout up but then wither away. Some people will look to have true genuine faith but they do not. Just like the seed among the weeds, the weeds choke out the life in the plant. Stay strong my brothers and I pray that God guides us all through this life to grow stronger and closer to Him and His will in our lives.

John Chapter 6 is an incredibly important teaching in Jesus’s time on earth. My favorite teaching in the whole bible. This is the Bread of Life Discourse. John 6:22-71.

Jesus literally gives us His true body and true drink (His words not mine) John 6:55. He tells us 6 times in 6 verses the non-symbolic importance of eating His flesh and drinking His blood.

John 6: 60-65 He gives us the words of eternal life.

Be very aware and very on guard about John 6:66

May the peace of Christ be with you all.

At what age do you think you can be once saved, always saved?

One of the most important teachings of all the different books of the Bible to me, the explanation of the Eucharist leading up to the Last Supper. And the fact that, that teaching was so hard many walked away and left him, then he doubles down and said it again, not come back you've misunderstood, all those who didn't belive, he let walk away.

At what age do you think you can be once saved, always saved?
It’s a spiritual maturity, I believe that’s different for every person. Don’t think it’s an age thing but more so a revelation from God in an individual. Thats the beauty of the word, it’s so simple that a child can understand but also so deep and intricate that as an adult we continue daily to search its meanings and still not truly understand everything, that’s because God reveals Himself in us through His teachings. We have to seek Him if you want His wisdom.

I sent @Plainsman79 a pm about this as well but I guess I’ll ask the question here instead. As a “Protestant” the way I have heard the Eucharist explained doesn’t make sense. I’d love some clarification.

I was wondering when the whole Catholic/Protestant was going to come up and a little surprised it took 84 pages.

What does Catholic mean in Greek? It means universal. Jesus gave us His one and only universal church when He handed the keys to St. Peter.

Some quick clarification and facts on the Holy Eucharist. For the first 1,500 years of Christianity every mass celebration revolved around the Eucharist. 1,500 years! It wasn’t until the first Protestant denomination broke away, that the Eucharist slowly started to not be celebrated.

The Holy Eucharist is foreshadowed and reveled all throughout the bible.

 • 1. The Sacrifices of Cain and Abel: Abel offers an acceptable lamb, foreshadowing the ultimate blood sacrifice for mankind.
 • 2. Melchizedek Offers Bread and Wine: The King of Salem prefigures the priesthood of Christ by offering bread and wine (Genesis 14).
 • 3. The Binding of Isaac: Abraham’s offering of his son foreshadows God offering His own Son, Jesus, as a replacement sacrifice on the cross.
 • 4. The Passover Lamb: The sacrifice of the spotless lamb and the sharing of its flesh are direct prefigurations of Christ, our Passover.
 • 5. The Manna in the Desert: God provides bread from heaven for the Israelites, foreshadowing the "True Bread" that is Christ.
 • 6. Elijah and the Bread of Angels: Strengthened by miraculous bread, Elijah journeys to the mountain, symbolizing the spiritual nourishment the Eucharist provides for our earthly pilgrimage.
 • 7. The Multiplication of the Loaves: Jesus blesses, breaks, and shares loaves and fish, foreshadowing the institution of the Eucharist and His feeding of the multitudes at every Mass.
 • 8. The Bread of Life Discourse: Jesus plainly teaches that His flesh is real food and His blood is real drink in John 6.
 • 9. The Last Supper: Jesus institutes the Eucharist, transforming Passover bread and wine into His own Body and Blood.
 • 10. The Agony in the Garden: Jesus offers Himself entirely to the Father's will, initiating the ultimate sacrifice that culminates on the altar.
 • 11. Jesus Dies on the Cross: Calvary and the Mass are intrinsically linked; the sacrifice on the cross is made present in the Eucharist.
 • 12. The Road to Emmaus: The disciples fail to recognize Jesus until the "breaking of the bread", mirroring how Christ is recognized in the liturgy.
 • 13. The Upper Room (Real Presence): The Resurrected Jesus appears to the Apostles, breathing the Holy Spirit upon them and empowering the Apostles to continue His sacramental work.
 • 14. The Marriage Supper of the Lamb: The Eucharist is understood as a foretaste of the eternal heavenly banquet described in the Book of Revelation
Beyond scripture-Jesus has revealed Himself to us on earth throughout Eucharistic miracles. There are currently over 150 Vatican approved documented miracles. A couple of the most recent here ⬇️

Buenos Aires, Argentina(1996)A discarded, defiled host was placed in water to dissolve, but transformed into bloody tissue.Forensic expert Dr. Frederic Zugibe (unaware of the source) identified living white blood cells and active heart tissue in severe cardiac shock. Sokolka, Poland (2008)A host dropped during communion was placed in a vessel of water, where it developed red stains.Pathologists confirmed the host fabric had naturally interwoven with human myocardial tissue on a cellular level.

The Holy Eucharist truly is Jesus’s body, blood, soul and divinity and it’s celebrated at every mass said around the world everyday.

I really hope I can deliver this as it is meant, as a question only.

Total conversation here, let's say a child is mature, smart, active in his church and faith and at the age of 11, has asked Jesus to be in his heart and in his life. At that moment and going forward he would be saved, and always saved everyday going forward?

I think @Plainsman79 put a good amount of info in his posts.
As a form Protestant converted to the Catholic Church I asked myself this question, is the Bible true? I think it is.
Then I asked myself do I fully and completely understand every single thing of the Bible? No, I don't fully and completely understand everything, but I do have faith and believe it to be true. A lot of that had to do with the proven historical facts, places, and people that are written and documented in the Bible that archeology has proven to be true.
Back to the Bible itself, then I asked myself, then what Christian faith takes John chapter 6 as a fact? What faith treats John chapter 6 the way Jesus explains it himself?
As stated above, Eucharist miracles are extremely well documented, and at a large number. Many of the transformed Eucharist hosts have been handed over to atheist scientist by the Catholic Church to try and debunk them, only to have the atheist scientist deem them valid, and in the end covert due to the resounding evidence they held and researched. Dr. Ricardo Castañón Gómez is one of them.

I do not fully physically understand the entire transformation of bread and wine to body and blood, but my faith in the word of God will not allow me to not believe that what Jesus himself said in John chapter 6, is in fact the truth.

Thats a question that only God can answer. This is where I tread lightly since I think the warning of Matthew 7:1-6 is talking to believers. I am not to cast judgement aka condemnation since I am not the one who has that authority, that’s Gods authority. I am not God so I cannot play God.

But what I was referring to is that in John 6 it specifically says that
“All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6‬:‭37‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
if you truly belong to God then nothing can separate you from Him. Aka once saved always saved. It’s kinda a hot take but I’ll take it

I was that 11 year old, then my parents got divorced, and I left going to church. Chewing, smoking, drinking, drugs, women, way before 18, and many other things that are not of the spirit. I do not believe that at that time in my life I was in a state of grace, and if I would have died would have found myself at the gates of heaven for any other reason than to have been told I'm not allowed in.

One way to explain that is James 2:24 See how a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.
You have to continue to work on yourself, your pitfalls, work on your faith and understanding of God, continue to draw yourself closer to him.

Had I continued the life of a drunk, drug user, partying all the time and doing whatever immoral things i wanted with whatever women i met that night, I don't think myself personally there is anyway my one statement at 11 years old saved me for life.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Because God has called me to follow Him, He has set aside works for me to do. It’s my choice to do them but if I don’t it’s not a matter of my salvation but more so a matter of how God will judge me in the end.

“And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭20‬:‭12‬ ‭NKJV

I think this verse in Revelation highlights that there is a separation between salvation (the lambs book of life) and what we do with our works (books opened). We will face 2 judgements.

I think if you were to have passed away at that time separated from God you would have been judged more harshly because your works were not aligned with His at that time, but glory to God He has given us all grace and we are still alive here today to spread the word.

No. False. It is for freedom that Christ set us free. Stand firm therefore and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

To paraphrase Venerable Fulton Sheen, there are not 100 people in the United States who hate the Catholic Church, although there might be millions of people who hate what they mistakenly believe the Catholic Church to be and to teach.
