Currently in Ephesians, I took the fam up to the Ark and Creation Museum before Christmas so I did have a short Genesis re-read before the new year.

I usually read through the Bible the chapters at a time as well as a psalm or proverb. I’m currently in Judges, I think when I finish this time through I’m gonna go through the books backwards next.

Since I drive an hour everyday to and from home and work I listen to Verse by Verse ministries. I have done a couple of different ones now but I am currently going trough Genesis. Going back from the New Testament to the Old Testament has really helped my understanding a lot.
“And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. Man if these verse’s don’t open your eyes. I always wondered why the message is so clear to me and so cloudy to others but here it is. God has blessed us who understand.

Good Sunday morning fellas.
Today’s gospel is from the book of Matthew.
When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain,
and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him.
He began to teach them, saying:
"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the land.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart,
for they will see God.

I’m doing a billing a year plan this year that is very random. It’s a little different and not as logical in its approach.
We just went through the book of Esther for a message series we are on.

My buddy and myself both got "The School of Biblical Evangelism" book written by Ray Comfort, Kirk Cameron and Mark Spence. Only on the 3rd lesson (101 lessons all together) and it is very impactful and is helping with my outlook when it comes to evangelism. I highly recommend it if you are looking to evangelize more.

where it gives light to all in the house.

I bought a nice sturdy pamphlet online with the daily entries and keep it tucked in my bible. My bible has 4 ribbon bookmarks, which allow me to keep my place in all 4 sections.
If I’m traveling, I go to that web site and click on the link of the day. My only pet peeve is it defaults to some newfangled translation so I manually change to KJV. Not as satisfying as leafing through the pages and holding the leather cover in my hand.
I follow the plan here.

I'm not on rokslide a whole lot but I want to say all though I am KJV only guy it is so good to see a thread like this make it to 80 pages. I don't think it would make it this long on Hunt talk. I know on ht there used to be a guy post a very small scripture devotional every Wednesday called Wednesdays Word. Some didn't like it and wanted admin to get rid of it. Which is ridiculous to me. Title plainly says Wednesdays Word which means it will probably have a Bible verse. If you don't want to read it then you don't have to open it. Really pretty simple.

It really is amazing that some people can't even handle the Word being anywhere near them. I think it's because they know there is power in it (consciously or subconsciously). If they truly believe the Bible is a book of fairy tales, why does it bother them so much? Anyways, I'm glad this thread has lasted.

I think a lot of people don’t want to be accountable to the Truth. That goes for Christians as well, it’s not easy to deny yourself, pick up your cross and follow. It’s much simpler to gratify the flesh.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12
Any time I encounter someone who can't handle the word or has a visceral reaction this verse shoots into my brain. They are in a spiritual war that they have no understanding of and no way to fight it.
