The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom

So can I ask something? Everyone who opposes the idea of Christianity. Can I ask you to try it?
Just 2 months. Go to a good local church, get plugged in to a real faith family, serve others with your life. Really focus on what Jesus did for all of us and try your hardest to live like he did. Repent when you sin. (daily)

After 2 months, I would love to hear what your opinions would be.

Everyone is so quick to jump on a 8 week fitness program to get ready for a week long hunt. I’m saying let’s commit a 8 week faith program for something that will change your life for ETERNITY!

It’s worth it!

That is just not an appealing proposition to a non-believer.

"Hey, I know you think all this is silly, but just forget all that, pretend you do believe it, jump in head-first, and after a while you'll really start to believe it."

It reminds me of a scene from The Office...a character is attempting to break up with a significant other after a long time apart. He replies with something like "I know you don't feel love for me right now, but if you pretend you do I won't be able to tell the difference, and after a while maybe you really will love me again"

People are quick to jump on an eight week fitness program because of the tangible, measurable benefits that will, without any doubt, be the result if you stick to the program. There is no "after" photo of the before and after of religion or faithfulness. Just the promise that it's going to look great.

But yet you disregard the testimony of those of us who have and are Christians. Maybe you just don’t want to accept the “after” photo?

You conveniently ignored the measurable/tangible aspect. There's a growing group of people on TikTok that testify about the benefits of sunning your butthole but I'm not rushing to try that either.

There is no doubt in my mind that you will be different! I have met so many of my high school firends that have completely changed their life around and you can tell it by looking at their family, looking at their lifestyle, and just being around them. It’s an amazing transformation. You might not look different on the outside, but it won’t take long for someone to notice the change in your life after talking with you.
I’ve never met anyone that has accepted Jesus as their savior after living a life apart from Him that isn’t sharing it! Usually someone like myself who grew up in the church isn’t as open to sharing as someone who had their entire life transformed. It’s amazing to see someone so changed.

I don't want to be very different or change my life around. I'm already very happy, and I love my family, my friends, and my lifestyle. None of them seem to think that I need to be very different to enjoy being around me or love me as I love them.

What about your future eternal life? The one that ultimately matters, not this materialistic human life?

I ask myself everyday how I can be better father, husband, and human in this life, knowing it will help me get to the next life in the right place.

Personally every day I try and commit to being a better man by biblical standards. Jesus lived a perfect life. I will never get there but I never want to stop trying to be more like Him.
I pray for you my friend because this life is just a short short time. I’m reminded of that every day when I watch my kids grow up way too fast:-)
The saddest thing I have been apart of is a non-believers funeral. They are dead. There is no hope. Makes me so sad because Jesus died so that we can have hope! Hope of eternal life in heaven where there is no more dying!
Heaven is called a paradise , so I believe there will be 450” bulls around every tree 😜
(Don’t want our conversation getting too deep without some chuckles)

That's where you lose me. Maybe there is a future eternal life, maybe there isn't. There's only one way to find out and none of us have experienced it yet. It seems to be an endless loop of "there is, because I believe/have faith, so mine will be good, because I believe/have faith", so on and so forth.

I'm gambling that if it is real, the quality or experience of it isn't dictated by the religious beliefs you aligned with during the materialistic human phase. Maybe something will happen in my lifetime that will change my mind, but it hasn't yet.

I try and commit to being a better man by standards that align with my morals, values, and beliefs, most of which probably align with biblical standards as they are generally accepted as good. I will also never be perfect but I will do my best.

I think all funerals are sad. The living find comfort in thinking "they are in a better place/with god/etc." but they have left the only world we know and experience day in and day out. This life is all we know, and I don't know whether anyone will have an eternal life or not, so I try to make the very best of each and every moment that is within reach.

Christians: Jesus was real.
Jews: ya Jesus was real.
Muslims: ya Jesus was real.
Romans: ya Jesus was real.
Greeks: ya Jesus was real.

Google non biblical accounts of Jesus Christ There are numerous writings of Jesus Christ that state he was a real person, everyone including atheist should believe he was real.
The only part missing is, Christians believe that Jesus Christ was who he said he was.

I have spent far more than 8 weeks going to church and living the life of a christian (and believing every word). Let me give you christians a challenge; read your bible from beginning to end with a modern translation - NOT King James - and see if you're a little surprised. If you believe it all and think it's the holy word of a loving and compassionate God, no need to change anything. It will take a while but you are basing all eternity on it, so what do you have to lose? If you want the Cliff Notes of bizarre verses here you go;

Would you be willing to define what you mean by "none of us have experienced it yet?" What would you define as "having experienced the afterlife?"

The direct way of asking this is could someone have died, come back to life and be able to say that they have seen the afterlife?

No idea but the references are there so you can look up each one of them. I didn't check so maybe they're all fake, you can judge.

Real question, why would you post it if you have no idea if they're fake, real, or somewhere in between?

You are right though, to many people are reading fluffed up versions of the Bible, and there are 23 words that don't directly translate to English, so those words have been translated as closely to the English language as possible. The one word that in my opinion that was translated the worst, or farthest away from it's original mean is the word Azar.
People can look that word up and and do their own research to come up with their own option, but it doesn't change the overall message.

The data shows health and life benefits to having faith in God.

Are you referring to the people who have been considered “clinically dead”, gone into extended hypoxic dreamland, and then been revived?
