The best rifle sling

I've used and abused my claw for years. Just bought one for my son for around $25 at Sportsmans.

I spun up a simple button as seen on my pack strap in this pic. The button rides higher on my shoulder when gun hunting and lower during archery (I can hang my bow on it to take a leak). The button allows pretty much any sling to stay put.

If you do not have a lathe to build one....you can buy a drawer knob for a buck at a hardware store and do the same.View attachment 385762
So what's the method for installing this "button"? Does a person just drive a bolt THRU the shoulder strap and into a threaded receiving end that sits on the underside of the shoulder strap?

Or is it secured to the shoulder strap some other way?

I heat up a Philips screwdriver and push it through the strap. It stops any fray and makes a nice hole.
