Well, this may all be a moot point for me. I have managed to thoroughly **** this barrel. I got a projectile jammed into the lands enough that it pulled out of the case. Tried to tap it out with a dowel rod which has worked in the past for me. Nope. It is also jammed in there now. Tried beating it out with brass cleaning rods and hammer. No go. Currently have it soaking in penetrating oil but I am not hopeful at this point.

I had an autotrickler on order with UM, gonna see if I can turn that into a new barrel instead. FML.

A local smith can likely make quick work of that. It's not a $700 mistake.

Just curious, has anyone built a 6UM on a medium action? Or everything on short actions? Curious as I have a medium mag face at the smith now and was thinking of having another barrel done if there was any feedback for the medium length. If not…..well then shucks! I’ll just have to find another action.

Mine is being built on a BAT Vesper LA. Can swap the bolt and barrel and be shooting a 33XC for maximum wallop!

If that ever happens again.....fill the barrel with water or diesel and tap the dowel into the water. The hydraulic action works around the bullet and typically makes quick work of it.......or load a case up with a mild charge (no bullet) and send it.

Can anyone tell me if the 6mm UM 30 reamer has too much freebore for a 110 smk? I'm guessing it will be very little of the bearing surface in the neck of the case with a 110 smk.

I got around to shooting again. I ended up getting the carbon ring cleaned out and loaded the 108’s to 20 thousandths off the lands. One of those solved my pressure issues and I worked up to 68gr of 570 with no signs of pressure. That got me to 3250.

Is anyone running the UM DBM in the 6um? I’m having issues with the tip of the bullet getting pushed down into the front of the magazine and not feeding.

Another note, my rokstok came in today and I am impressed. Was able to stay on target 10/10 shots at 100 yards while on 14x.

It’s REAL close, without measuring I’d guess a 1/16th” off.

Will it close on an unfired piece of brass?

It will close on the fired brass that was sent with the barrel and the 6-30 brass. Should I even worry about the go gauge?
