Put in an order for a 6UM-30 at Unknown Munitions in early January. I live right down the road from them in Post Falls, ID and their store is like Disneyland and all ppl there were great to work with. I have 100 pieces of the ADG brass on backorder as well as a set of the Whidden dies. Was able to pickup 500 of the NR DTACS (TBN Coated) and 3# of N570 as well. If I can be in the 3,200fps range I'll be plenty happy with it. Hoping to get to have the rifle back before 2025 hunting season, then I will post some results, load info, etc. Build specs are below, should be around 10lbs ish with scope, can, and bipod based on my calcs.
  • Rem 700 SA (donor action, Kampfeld TI bolt fluting)
  • XLR Magnesium Chassis w/ folder (Black)
  • 20" Ace #3 Barrel (Ratchet fluting)
  • TBAC Ultra 7 CB suppressor
  • UM Titanium CB brake
  • Nightforce NX8 4-32x50
  • Tungsten cerakote

You should be able to get 3200. I have a 18in ace #3 and get 3250 out of it with n570 and HBN 115 dtac's.

Correct, I did a 6UM-30 just to keep things simple - buy 6UM-30 brass then plug n play at a small decrease in performance over the -40 degree shoulder. Will see how much once I get it shooting.

My new 20in 6saum is waiting for some fresh 6um 30° brass before it's maiden voyage.

I just put in an order for a 6UM-30 too. Mine will be built on a tikka. Brass and dies are ordered. I need to order bullets next. Now just sit and wait!

Do you guys suggest the coated or non coated DTACS?

I posed a similar question to UM before I ordered bullets and they recommended the coated DTACS

What’s the consensus on the dtacs , does a guy need to have the deep cut ones or are the regular nose rings ok. I don’t see a tab on Tubbs website for the deep cut option.

You gotta ask for the deep cuts iirc. Think consensus was deep cuts are better. But @Formidilosus

Deep cuts seem to be the way to go for deer/antelope/bear and still good on elk. They're all I've used and have performed extremely well. The slowest I've seen them in action was 2300 fps and they still fragmented extremely well.
It's not an option on the website, but you can call and request them. The deep cut is ~.025" deep, standard is ~.015". Usually the deep cut is somewhat of an accident on the cutter setting, they set those boxes aside and mark them. Then when someone wants them they have some for the order.

Will the 6um stamped brass fit a lot of straight 6-saum chambers with possibly just having to bump the shoulder back
