I have 4 deer tags for Montana will be trying the deep cut nose rings out of a 6creed.
I shot a mule deer buck at 450 it dropped in its tracks, 2 mule deer does at 200 and 250. The 250 was 2 shots, second wasn’t necessary. They both made it about 30 yards. And the last was a whitetail doe that dropped in its tracks at 200. The meat damage was not to bad. I will be continuing to use the deep cut dtacs. If I can get the same speed out of a 16.5-18” 6um as I can my 24” creedmoor (3090fps) that would make me happy. I also shot a black tail buck at home in Oregon but it was a head shot so not helpful for seeing how the bullets perform.

My last big game hunt of the year with the 6 UM. Coues deer at 470 yards. I added .1 MIL when the buck starting walking out of cover but shouldn't have. He was quartered away uphill for the first shot which hit him high through the shoulders and dropped him. Caliber sized entry, golfball sized exit. Shots 2/3 were while laying broadside. I first shot over him, then hit him through the spine mid-body (that's as far forward as I could see because of brush). Basically a baseball sized wound channel all the way through on that one.
115 DTAC NR Deep Cut, 3400ish at the muzzle.
What tikka factory mag do you use with your 6um? 300wsm or 300 win mag? Impressive results.

We’ve been playing with a 6UM in our Deadfire steel receiver, 16” Proof barrel and MDT HNT26 chassis, it’s a really cool gun that garners attention everywhere it goes… people can’t believe it’s a gun for adults, capable of shooting 1000 yards 😂

We’ve taken a few orders for short barreled 6UMs, so should be a few more in the field next fall, I think guys are going to really love it.

Our test gun loves ELD-Ms, and coated nose-ringed DTACs shot a max pressure generated 3140 FPS. E97E38D1-C18D-455F-ADF0-4D3E9B5BC549.jpeg

Being able to fold it up and stick it in your pack is pretty handy!

Two bucks were killed with the ELD-Ms this year, at 545 and 455 yards.

First one: 445 yards, shot high shoulder, DRT. No necropsy pics, it was my brothers deer and I was too distracted trying to kill a coyote…

Second deer was 545 yards, heart/lung shot, no major bones hit. Extreme trauma to heart and shredded lungs, deer ran approximately 20 yards and flipped over dead.

The third buck was shot at 473 yards with a deep cut NR DTAC. Entry was in the boneless “V” of the shoulder, exit hit the humerus. Caliber size entry, appeared the bullet started expanding in the first lung, made a fairly large wound in the heart, far lung and shoulder was mangled, leaving a massive exit. Deer ran 10 yards and tipped over.
