The .243 Win superlite saga (painless method)

Thanks for the Info, I am going down the same path with 108 ELDM and 105 VLD's, I'll post my findings when the wind breaks and the sun comes out.

I'm trying desperately to find some published loads with H1000 and 105 Berger's with limited luck. Any Tips on Finding This?
Looks like the hodgdon website has load data for h 1000 and a 105 amax, if it were me i would start with that data for the 105 Berger. But remember, risk is relative and we all take our own in this life.

So, full disclosure and not to Hy-Jack a post...
I loaded 20 (5) round groups with different powders and different bullets and set it 10 thousands off the lands. This is all a learning curve for me, so i'm going the slow route. I loaded my first five in some junk S&B Brass for sight in, then loaded a duplicate load in some re-sized Starline brass.

For reference, this is a 22" Tikka 243 "Lite" factory barrel, 108 ELD-M, CCI BR primer, 40 Gr of H4350 @ 100 yards. i got a rain shower right as i was firing the last shot so the target is soaked and wrinkled.

I averaged 2840, had a wide swing of 46 ES and an SD of 18. This was the very first string i shot (out of 21 test strings) and ended up with a 5 shot group of .71" at 100 yards.

I got to shoot 15 shots based on the weather and called it after that, but for the first string, i can't complain.

Update: brass started showing pressure signs at the end of the second firing (100 pieces) of “final” load of 46.0 grains of H4831SC (barrel sped up ?) Checked velocity today with last 5 I had loaded. Average was 3050 fps, so I am up 50fps with 220 rounds down the barrel. I am going to back down 1 grain and try a ten shot group.

Loaded 10 at 45.0 grains of H4831sc and headed for the range. I pulled one shot but 9 fell into a nice little group. Brass looks good.
looks like she'll shoot! I think there is something to getting about 100 rounds down the tube of a new rifle before it starts to perform. Seems like 45 is your load.

lets see some groups at distance!
