looks like she'll shoot! I think there is something to getting about 100 rounds down the tube of a new rifle before it starts to perform. Seems like 45 is your load.Loaded 10 at 45.0 grains of H4831sc and headed for the range. I pulled one shot but 9 fell into a nice little group. Brass looks good.
What brass were you using? Bummer it took so long to come up with a viable load.I have been following this thread closely. I have had a hell of a time dialing in my 1:8 Superlite. I am committed to 103 ELD-X for a variety of reasons, bit have tried most everything from 100-108. I have also tried a ton of different powders. I finally found a load that repeatedly puts 10-round groups under an inch.
44 grains H4831 (42-46 was tried)
103 ELD-X
Federal Match Primers
.7(ish)/100 yards
3000FPS average (no visible signs of pressure)
This project took a while and the gun was pretty frustrating. I was hoping to find a more available powder that would work, but most of everything just ended in garbage groups.

Star line was where I started, I got 6 firings out of that batch of brass, I have now moved on to lapua brass to see if I get more firings with the same load of H4831sc and the 108 eldm and possibly less trimming. So far es/sd has remained the same between lapua/starline.Remington, Winchester, Hornady, and Starline. Starline is where I landed. Oddly Winchester seemed to be the worst (loose pockets after 2-firings).
I picked one up, had the barrel cut to 16” by kampfeld. I’m struggling to find a bullet and powder combination that will group where it needs to. Has anyone had similar experience? So far I’ve tried, 108 eldm, 115 dtac, 108 berger elites, and 113 match burners. Dtacs grouping the best thus far. Don’t really want to use them tho. 103 eldx are inbound and so are some 95 tmks.
Really wanted to shoot 108s. 108s grouped a 10 shot at 2.5”. Tried different seating depths annd powders with minimal improvement. Everything else I’ve only done 5 shot groups with. All were in that 1.8”-2.5” for a 5-shot. D-tacs were around an inch for 5 shots so I’m sure they’ll shoot under 1.5” for a 10 shot. Just don’t think they’ll be great for hunting at the slower velocities. What is the avg group size at 100 yards?

I got one just before October, but didn’t cut it down so it’s got a 20” barrel. I got 108 eldm from copper creek, 90 eldx Hornady factory, and 95 Berger factory. I was trying to not do load dev and just take it hunting, but all 3 factory loads shot bad so I ended up having to anyways.I picked one up, had the barrel cut to 16” by kampfeld.
