The 22 creedmoor thread

Thank you for this. How many grains of varget? I haven’t tried it yet as it didn’t have the speed max the other powders did in the loading manual. I’m on a 1:8 twist PBB in a tikka action 18”.

I’m at 39 gr of Varget (which is close to max if I recall correctly). Shoots very well.

Anyone improved their 22's?

Was annealing brass today and was like dang that shoulder is lacking. Basically the other two things are shoot are improved.

Ha yeah probably over kill. But then I remember Form playing with 22 UM.

Already pushing 88's at 3072. Another 100 fps plus could be fun!

Anyone know the process to get a non standard/uncommon improved round improved? And dies made?

There's a dude on longrangehunting.com that posts about a 22 Creed AI occasionally - can't recall his username at the moment. Not sure if the juice is worth the squeeze on it, but you only live once!

Basically, you'd be looking at ordering a custom reamer (or shopping for a smith who has one on hand already). If you go with the reamer, I believe you can have custom dies cut with it OR typically send some fired brass to a die manufacturer (I think Hornady, Lee, and likely a few others will make dies for you).

The costs start to add up, but I totally get the desire to tinker with stuff.

Let’s get em going on the 22 CM + Peak !!

C’MON ……Let’s Go !!!!

I just submitted a request to Federal on their web page for 22 CM + Peak.
Feel free to do the same.
Gotta start somewhere. !!

As far as I'm concerned the 22cm is improved. From 22-250 to improved was a bump. I doubt you'd see 100fps going from 22cm to improved. That said I'm the last guy to discourage someone from playing though. I just doubt the juice is worth the squeeze.

They’d do 22 arc but 22 creed doesn’t make sense.
Makes Perfect sense to me to + Peak the 22 CM.
With the Newer heavy for caliber projectiles
It would elevate the .224 caliber of factory offerings for small to medium sized big game.
As well as provide blistering velocities for lighter varmint hunting ammo.
I’m sure there are many factors Federal considers for engineering ammunition for bolt action centerfire rifle use.
I’ll be Happy if they do offer it in the future. 🤞
