The 22 creedmoor thread

Man I need to try and find this r26 black market. A month ago someone was garage selling some r26. And I didn't buy any

I saw an ad a few days ago for 4.5 lbs in Butte for $40/lb. Not sure if it’s still available. Too far of a drive for me, otherwise I’d snatch it up.

I got lucky at Scheels about 6 weeks ago. Asked if they had RL-26 and they came back with 5 lbs.

Had chat gpt run a summary on the go to powder for the 77 tmks mentioned in this thread. Said h4350? But in taking that with a grain of salt. What should I start with?
Still planning on using the 88's but wouldn't mind trying a couple powders with the 77's.

If you have h4350 it would sure be worth trying. Not exactly the same but I shot it under a 75amax for years in 22-250AI.

77's and 565.
Must have been on commercial break on that one.
3001 fps. I could probably stomp on the gas a little more too. Especially now that I've got a drop tube.
Zeroed out the 88's and set the zero angle. Going to keep running those for now.
But I can also use this pic to set the zero angle for 77's.

I ordered 2 boxes each of 77tmk and 77 LRX loaded ammo from Choice Ammunition to test out in my 22" Ruger American 22CM. I was on the Scheels website today and they had a 22CM 20" Ruger American in the Gray barrel and stock in stock so I ordered one. I'll pick it up on my way home from work this week. As much as I've been shooting the 22" I figured I should pickup a back up gun since it is less than a new barrel would cost!

I'll report back with some data on the 77 LRX loaded ammo and the new 20" Ruger American rifle.

P.S. @TradLife406 they have a 20" RA in 22CM in stock at the Great Falls Scheels but still no factory ammo in at the store according to the website.

Thank you everyone for your posts. Just ordered a barrel from lswild for the tikka and can’t wait to get the results you are all seeing with this caliber.

Why is my Hornady die leaving rings and scuffs on my TMKs? Tried both seating stems. Same result just different spots on the bullet. Do I need to buy a different stem?

Yeah I keep bugging the guys there about getting ammo. Asked the gal at North 40 and she fired off a text then and there to her buyer.

I could never get either the 80 and 88 eldms to group in a 22 creed McGowen. I had a 1:8 tikka 22-250 lying around and I switched to it - same deal, the 80s and 88s don’t group for shit over 4350.

I loaded up 77 TMKs in the same brass with h4350 with near the same charge as the 80s/88s and it shoots 5 shots in a ragged hole. I will keep shooting the 77s but I won’t lie - I’m slightly disappointed. I went into this because of the capabilities of the high BC 80/88s and they just don’t shoot. The TMKs just don’t do anything my 243 with 109s won’t do better.

Are there any other higher BC offerings from say Berger or anyone else that will still upset like an eldm or TMK I should be trying? Or is it worth trying a different powder?
