The 22 creedmoor thread

Anyone run the choice loaded ammo with the TMK? It’s roughly double the eldm price but it’s the only loaded TMK ammo I’ve seen.

I'm 300 rounds into the 88s with 2 barrels and 4 powders.

I shot a box of 100 and gave up. Took a break and came back around with 250 more because the whole point of the PVA barrel purchase was to shoot 88s.

It just ain't getting any better.

I loaded the last 50 up and Ill just let em roll and move on.

I finally got around to loading some TMK's.

I was able to load 39.5gr H4350 @ 3010fps with ever so slight a stiff lift and 40gr @3050fps had a stiff lift. This is with the bootleg brass I made.

I put both loads into factory Hornady brass and got the same results with pressure.

18" PBB group buy barrel.

I wish I could get the 88s to shoot like this (and the SMK).

I’ll have to look at my notes but the H4350 charge I tried was much slower than Varget. I got 3100 with no pressure signs with a 77gr TMK over 36.9gr of Varget with a 16.5” barrel.

You shoot those loaded 88's I sent? With a factory 8 twist 19" Tikka barrel, they were one of the most accurate 22CM loads I've shot.

I have some boxes of 88s that were purchased for this barrel, but hard to step away from how good the 80s shoot.

Here's 12 77 TMK for the first time in the same gun that shot the 88s yesterday.

The 77s have 39.5gr H4350.

The 77s are carelessly (is carefreelessly a word?) seated at the same depth setting as my hand loaded 88s were set at with no regard for jump in my bootleg 6.5 creedmoor brass that was loaded with a powder drop.

The 88s from yesterday were loaded in nearly perfect Petersen brass and probably all trickled at 39.3gr H4350 based on a few I pulled just for curiousity.

It just has me wondering if a priority to neck turn is really "a thing" at least for hunting purposes.

Anyone killed any coyotes with 80 or 88 eldm? Not sure they’ll upset much on such a thin animal vs something like a vmax.

I trying to decide if it’s worth cooking up a lighter load for coyotes or keeping everything the same and stick with the 80/88s that I’m setting up for deer/antelope.
80s work but will be hard on the hides if you care. I wouldn't mess with a new load unless you want it to be flatter to 300.

Did a pressure test today with Varget after getting 77gr TMKs going 3104fps out of my 1:8 16.5” over 36.9 gr of Varget. Still no signs at 37.2gr but got to 3141fps. 37.5gr saw the ever so lightest ejector swipe and 37.8gr and 38.1gr were easy to see light ejector swipes. It was also over 90* out.

A new barrel is a lot easier than continually messing with one that is picky.
