@satchamo i just got done working a load on my new rifle, I settled at 40.5g h4350 with the 88g ELDM, CCI 200, Peterson brass. I worked up from 38 to 41.5 and started getting a slight ejector mark at 41.5 in my rifle so I dropped it 1 grain and worked it from there. That’s 8 shots at 1/2” tonight, the high one was before I adjusted my scope. I’m super excited to put this gun to work this winter!

Good to know - I only loaded a single round of a few powder charges to test for pressure signs. Plan to just run a grain under the first charge I see pressure on.

Unrelated… I’m looking at hornadys manual for 22 creed and for h4350 and the 80 gr eldm, they’re showing book max at 37.7 gr. Do lighter bullets pressure up faster or is it just the shit brass they test with showing pressure sooner?

Hornady tests with pressure equipment not pressure signs on brass.

Most of the internet is just okay shooting 70k psi loads I think.

I had pressure after 39 grains of h4350 and thought it was a touch fast of a powder for 22 creed.

Duh that makes sense. Im not sure why I thought a company like Hornady would be loading and visually inspecting thanks!

So i tried some 75 ELDMs couple different times. They seems like they would shoot a few shots close together and then a random flyer an inch away..

Then I tried the 80.5 Berger’s again and they all shot about in the same hole! Guess my barrel likes the Berger’s

Been talking to @hereinaz and getting pumped about getting mine and playing. Ordered a couple boxes of 69 grain ELD’s and 80 grain ELD’s to test when I get the rifle here. Y’all are killing me with all these pics

Like others have said with peterson lrp brass I ran from 37.5 to 41gr and still didn't have stiff bolt, flat primer or ejector mark. Decided on 39gr and have little over 150 rounds in without any issues. GRT says 63500k but plan to do a wet test next time I shoot. 20" 7 twist barrel 3060fps

I think my level of tardation may be good for hand loading. These are the first 6 recipes I’ve ever made. Not sure why I was intimated by reloading for so long.

Had been fighting another barrel all summer, finally threw in the towel. Will have to suffer through w zero load dev 22CM barrel that replaced it. 20 rounds 80gr ELDM handloads at 3240fps out of a 18” barrel.

Anyone killed any coyotes with 80 or 88 eldm? Not sure they’ll upset much on such a thin animal vs something like a vmax.

I trying to decide if it’s worth cooking up a lighter load for coyotes or keeping everything the same and stick with the 80/88s that I’m setting up for deer/antelope.

I’ve killed one coyote (600 yards) and one fox (200 yards) with the 88s and they definitely expand. The exit on the fox was massive and I unfortunately couldn’t use the hide. On the coyote, exit was roughly quarter size.

88 ELDM is a great bullet. Relatively cheap too.

If you’re looking to keep hides and have close shots I’d probably use something other than the 88….. last one I shot at about 125-150 had a double fist sized exit.

88’s aren’t fur friendly. They’ll hammer coyotes dead though and leave big exits.

Yes, Bergers are more inclusive. We should all be like Bergers

In all seriousness, for pure accuracy I have found Berger to be the most constant of all match bullets on the market.

H4350, 40.7gr, 3330fps on 20” barrel.

I finally got around to loading some TMK's.


I was able to load 39.5gr H4350 @ 3010fps with ever so slight a stiff lift and 40gr @3050fps had a stiff lift. This is with the bootleg brass I made.

I put both loads into factory Hornady brass and got the same results with pressure.

18" PBB group buy barrel.

I wish I could get the 88s to shoot like this (and the SMK).

Anyone run the choice loaded ammo with the TMK? It’s roughly double the eldm price but it’s the only loaded TMK ammo I’ve seen.
