The 22 creedmoor thread

Below is from hornady's website. AB says .397 G1 .199 G7 for the 62 ELDvt. AB says .202 G7, .395 G1 for 77 TMK. same/same far as i'm concerned.

Sierra used to only list banded g1 BCs for the 77 tmk but looks like they changed it. Used to list as .420 G1 above mid 2000s FPS, around 0.40 in the middle band, and less below that (off memory). I've always treated it like a 0.2 G7, 0.4 G1 bullet but haven't shot em much beyond about 550 yards where it would be more critical.
I'll see if I can find the box that came with the 62 ELD VT's I ordered but I may have misread it or made a clerical error.

With .3850 it slips below 1800fps at 710 yards in my gun.

When I changed it to .3950 1800fps jumped to 730 yards.

This data point assumes that a varmint bullet needs to upset like a TMK.

Yeah, primarily just pointing out that "the point" of them is that they are very close to the same BC as 73 ELDm / 77 TMK and should be able to be pushed a fair bit faster so they dont have the same BC compromise that a typical Vmax / Blitzking type varmint bullet does.

The beauty of the 77tmk load, is it can be used from vermin to big game! Idk if anyone has put a 62 eld VT on larger bodied animals yet.

Stacked deer during management hunts through my buddies 22 creed. Deer dropped like a toilet seat. He wasn’t sold on 22 creed before that

Fellow 22 creed lovers.... I am surely overanalyzing but want some opinions. Have a sheep tag this year and have 2 different loads looking good for the 18" barrel.

77 TMK @ 3130 FPS (7 at 400 yards)

or

88 ELDM @ 3030 (8 or 9 at 415 yards)

Both options seem to shoot equal out to the 400 yards I have tested. Does a guy go with the better documented wound channel of the 77 or the better wind deflection of the 88??

77 is a 5 MPH gun... 88 is a 6 MPH gun. Not a substantial difference, but something. In fact, the elevation I am hunting it will probably be more like 6 and 7.

I don’t have nearly the experience of some guys on here, but I’d go with the 88s for the better wind number. Last year I shot 5 deer, 1 javelina, and probably around a dozen hogs with 88s out of a 22 ARC. I was very happy with how they performed.
