ELDX in California? Don’t you have to use mono’s?

Effective July 1, 2019, nonlead ammunition is required when taking any wildlife with a firearm anywhere in California.

I ordered another 338 Ultra for my other 22 Creed so I don’t have to swap back and forth.

The wife and kid both shot antelope with the Creed a week or two ago. 85.5 Bergers @3060 FPS. Same performance I’ve seen from larger caliber Bergers on big game.

Thought this might come, just didn’t expect it to be first reply.

As a life long CA hunter who’s attended hundreds of wildlife management meetings with fish and game and the DNR (I still know many of those guys, whom all completely disagree with the regulation)…

Sometimes you need to take a stand against corrupt, political, and illogical regulations against hunters and hard working ranchers. Even if it means a potential $500 fine for first time offender (most fish and game guys won’t ever look at your ammo, let alone ticket you).

I’d recommend doing some research on why this regulation was signed, it will baffle you.

My post has been removed as to not detract from the thread and ruffle any more feathers.

If anyone would like to PM me to discuss, I won’t reply to this topic in any threads moving forward.

Thanks.

Didn’t mean to cause anything. Been a while since I lived there and paid attention. In the beginning if I’m not wrong you only had to use mono in certain areas (A zone maybe) and could still use other projectiles elsewhere.

Hey, if the other side can destroy public and private property in the name of "civil disobedience", who am I to complain about shooting some animals in Commiefornia using bullets that actually work for the same reason.

Looks like my 22CM likes the 80 ELDX better than 88 ELDM. I need to try another powder for velocity with the 80.

I’ve tried H4350, H1000, 6.5 StaBALL with the 88 getting >1.5 MOA as well as GM210M and CCI200.

I’d just shoot and kill with the 80 ELDX if I were you. Mine is 3 for 3 on big game…

.Moose. 523 yards. 2190ish impact velocity.
.Black Bear. 130ish yards (never ranged). 2,900ish impact velocity.
.Mule Deer 630 yards. 2150ish impact velocity.

All one shot kills.

Does anyone have a rough OAL starting point for the 77 TMK on a SAAMI chamber? Trying to compare to what I’ve been trying, which is 2.613

88eldm, alpha srp 1x fired, cci450, N555 43.0gr, runs 3080-3110 from a 18" 7.5tw ace barrel. I'm going to tighten neck tension a bit next brass cycle, hopefully it'll tighten the es some and reduce vertical. I was able to get up to 3160 with 43.7gr, no pressure but out of case room, using a 12" drop tube.

400y groups today testing a few different seating depths. Wind had picked up while shooting the last group. 1st group was cold bore cold can testing this first shot flyer from diligent supressors, haven't found any issues with my 3 so far.

Looks light seating depth was very much inconsequential.

40-55k jump with the 88 has pretty much all been small. When I did barrel break in, I loaded 100 rds from 5k off to 50k off in groups of 10. I was really impressed to see several small 10 shot groups with minimal tweaking. Some groups were shot later so placed them in to show almost no POI change. Guess I chose the right powder for the bullet.

Wow those look great, especially the further jumps. Wolfhunter pretty quiet on the 22 CM?
I ordered a .223 end cap for my Scythe to use on the 22 CM & 223, but would consider a Wolfhunter if there is as a significant difference. I’m pretty sure the Scythe will be perfectly adequate though.

I am running the 3port anchor end cap on my scythe so the wolf hunter is def more quiet. I still wear electronic ear pro when shooting suppressed so it's hard to tell a big difference, but there's some. The LTI is a really affective can on everything.

Throwing in my shorty 22 creed info here. ONLY ABOUT 75 rounds through the rifle so far, with a very light load this far from my findings on brass.

16” CF barrel
88grain ELDM
Hornady brass
41 grains H4350
3025FPS definitely think I can get close to 3100 FPS with little issue
