Around the middle of the video the gentlman referrs to a new "ELD" hunting bullets. He catches himself before he finishes. He doesn't mention anything else other then the "new" bullet will be designed for medium game. Anyone else heard any rumors from hornady?

I’d wager if Hornady drops an 80 gr eld-x that would indicate they plan to release a saami 22 Creedmoor and factory ammo

I was secretly hoping it would be heavier then the 88’s if they released a new bullet. I was also thinking they might finally saami it. I guess time will tell.

Went out with my match gun to shoot some paper at 400. Decided to see what the 22cm would do. This was 5 at 400. I think I can handle 2780 fps if it shoots like this.

Don’t know how that’s even possible.

Well not sure if the juice is worth the squeeze for me on this one.

26” PVA barrel nut “sale” on my tikka

88eldm and alpha SRP brass.

100 rounds down the tube now. H4350 showing the most promise..h1000 and n555 also solid 1.3” 10 shot groups in some bad heat/mirage.

Maxing out at only 3100fps or so in these powders which seems slow.

Also “popped” a bullet today at 3060fps under h1000. Actually found a piece of the jacket next to my target forgot to take a picture.

The bore looked pretty rough with tooling marks before I started shooting it so that may be part of the issue.

That seems slow to me as well for that barrel length. I’m using Hybrid 100V out of a 20” barrel and getting 3020 with the 88’s. H4350 and H4831 produced similar speeds but worse grouping for me.

100 yard, 5 shot groups from last week. Knowing how the hybrid shot to start I didn’t load up 10 round groups seeing the other powders didn’t group as well.

I would agree it seems pretty slow. But I’d be happy with 3100, if the bullets all make it down range. I’ve had issues with alpha brass in 6.5 CM so I’ll try some Peterson. Cleaning the barrel down to steel and will verify with my borescope. Thankfully my 25 creedmoor has been flawless and reliable so I can use that for everything this year if the 22 creedmoor proves unreliable in getting bullets down range.

Accuracy has been good, I will say. These were done in bad mirage and 90-100F temps, let the barrel get pretty hot too. I’ll try to baby it now that it has 100 rounds down the tube and see if I lose any more bullets. Also have a tikka 22-250 takeoff getting rechambered with Baldwin should this PVA not work out.

My barrel is just sitting here. I intended to put it on my hunting rifle for deer this fall but I somehow ended up with several elk tags. So I'm leaving the 6.5cm barrel on there for another season.

Less wind drift and about 100 yards further before you hit 1800 fps.

For me it was a bullet speed I wanted in a 16” barrel.

I’ll probably do a 6 next time just for more bullet options.

Hopefully it speeds up, I don’t count on velocity numbers much until I have 200 rounds in. Iv seen barrels speed up over 100fps in that 100-200 round area.

I’d try some Peterson LRP brass. I think LRP are the way to go for the 22 creed. They just seem to handle the pressure better. Had some significant cratering on a few rounds with h4350 ( I think 4350 is a hair fast for 22 creed), but with LRP brass I have yet to see a problem, and my rounds are water safe, where I’d rather not pinch off wet h4350 srp brass round.

You could also try 4831sc.

You read a lot of the bullets popping and that’s a concern of mine as well. Mine hasn’t popped one yet, but I plan on keeping velocity lower, and cleaning every hundred to avoid unnecessary roughness on the jacket. We will see I guess.

I wouldn’t buy one over the other although it is handy to pick up cases of match 108 6 cm.
If you shoot mils it’s a 1mph difference
