The 22 creedmoor thread

Anyone shoot the Hornady 62 eldvt in their 22 creedmoor?

The 47.0 gr load shot the best for me.

Reload at your own risk, these were fine in my chamber but may not be in yours. I have a .219 bore 4 groove barrel.

More short barrel data. First rounds through the gun using N560 loading to just under max according to Vihtavuori website. Wind was terrible this day which definitely didn’t help group size. Going to shoot this load for a bit and let the barrel break in. Ran up to 3,000 and didn’t notice any pressure signs.

Hey man, how is the wound channel with the 88s? Do you get an exit? And if so, is it of any size or mostly just a pin hole in and out?
All those animals were shot with a 75ELDM. I just started loading some 88s but haven't shot anything with them yet. I plan on running the 88s this year to see how they do.

Cool thanks for the info

I usually shoot heavies with my 22 CM, but decided to try the 62 gr ELD-VT this time around and they did not disappoint. All groups were 5 shots at 100 yards, shot in mid to high 80s with maybe 30 seconds between shots. ES was a little high on all except 39.0 gr. No pressure signs, but obviously work up in your rifle. For reference, white squares are 1”.

I shouldn't have read through this thread. I've been waffling between converting my old 243 to 22 Creedmoor, but always decided that I didn't want to add another caliber to feed. Then I realized my .243 is my only .243 so it really was a 1:1 trade. Then I also realized I have a suppressor that's currently homeless that would be perfect for this.

This is going to cost me some money.

I mean that’s good shooting and all, but I honestly expected better from you! Haha

Killing it as always!
Hahaha I tell people all the time, my gunsmith makes it easy on me. And I build a little weight into the rifles because I do like a little added precision, albeit not necessary to kill things. This gun is 9lbs and that is the first load I put together for it.
