I have a 17"ish Tikka stainless superlite 8twist 223 barrel reamed to 22CM. I loaded 20 88 eldm in Alpha SRP brass, cci450. 10 with 37 grains H4350, 10 with 41 grains H4831. Shot like garbage, must not be stabilizing. Density altitude was -600. I forgot my chronograph. I'm hoping I can shoot again today and get a velocity. Maybe I'll have to go with 77 or 80 grain bullets.

I tried some h4831sc with 77tmk and 62 eld-vt. Still getting lower than expected velocity with this barrel and the alpha srp brass. No pressure issues encountered with compressed loads. Good accuracy. I pulled my previous h4350/77tmk loads apart as when tested they were running slower than my 22-250. When ramping up the powder charges during testing I shot larger groups than attached with the 62's giving 1/2" vertical by 1.25" horizontal over several grains of powder in 0.5 grain increments. Temps in the mid 20's. I have some lrp brass coming to open up more powder options.

Zeroed the thermal scope with the 62's. Coyote tournament starting Friday afternoon so I won't have time to work up test loads with the lrp brass that will be delivered mid-week. The 1" foil tape disc was difficult to stay exactly centered on with the scope as my reticle completely covered it up - older pulsar unit with 2.2 base magnification that doesn't have the resolution of the newer hight end models.

Decided to try the 90 grain smks I've had around. This is all .5 grain increments shot just to find pressure. Seems to like em.

So far dealing with this out of my 18" 22cm 1:9 twist for the 62 eld vt at 3625fps. Will see how it does this coming weekend or maybe one night this week on some dogs.

I'm planning on it Thursday. Gonna load some up tonight or tomorrow night an go out Thursday. Suppose to be 45 that morning. I'm gonna shoot some 75eld with RL23 that I have already loaded then gonna try 4350, RL16, Varget an 6.5 Staball in the Alpha SRP an Peterson LRP see how they do. Friend is running 41.5 of 4350 an avg 4450 out of 22 inch 1 in 8 twist barrel same as I got.
36 Degrees today an absolutely no ignition problems.

So I had my chrono too close trying to keep it out of snow so the Varget is really only 39 gr with LRP. The other shot is an RL23 I had plenty of. Should of shot it first. Everything else I worked up. First shot is small rifle CCI 450 second is Federal 210. Interesting how the large rifle was faster on each one. Was kinda settled on Reloder 23 but I think just cause of the speed an more availability gonna try Varget an 4350 again. Varget bolt lift was fine. Barrel was lil warm by the time I got to 4350. First time I tried it a while back bolt was lil snug at 41.5 but 42 was ok. An the 7mm-08 I thought was just neat. It's factory 139 SSt Superformance suppose to be 2950 in 24 inch barrel never chronographed before hand. This gun is cut to 16.5 suppressed so I think the loss in fps is acceptable since where I'm using it is probably no more than 200 yd shots 300 at most. Really has me debating on 7prc I'm 18 inch barrel

Looking at those numbers and your explanation, does that mean you saw anywhere from 55-200 fps jump using LR primers?

Look to be about 50, I used hand trickler an trickled on scales so grains should be good made sure scale said stable an always zero. Has me debating on LRP brass now too. Only ones I had were 20 of the Peterson that was in the Texas Ammunition that I sighted in with. My SRP is Alpha

35 degrees this morning one group 39.2 tighter one 39.4 SRP cci 450s. 95 percent likely this it what I'm running. I'm gonna try Staball Match just cause of price an availability vs Varget. Pretty happy with that though.

I had loaned my Labradar out when I first got received my barrel but have since tested and posted some results. I just emailed pbb on my barrel, 22", 1:8, has consistently been running 200-400 fps slower than hodgdon and Peterson published load data and a touch slower than my 1:8 Tikka 22-250 with the same bullets. I scoped the barrel this morning and didn't notice any significant issues other than the depth of grooves/lands seems shallow (can't say with certainty hi just scoping of course). No complaints on the accuracy but I've been having to run max book loads to reach minimum book velocities.

Hope the barrel showing up from them tomorrow isn't like that.

I'd be interested in your results when you use it. I purchased mine from their available barrels list. Large rifle primer brass showed up tonight so I plan to try it with superformance but don't expect a the velocity to reach original expectations. I may try my hand at casting and pushing a slug though to measure barrel.

I had a 25-284 from PBB that ran pretty slow. They took it back and casted the chamber and it was “perfect”. The barrel was very accurate but ran slow for sure so I just kept shooting and it did speed up a bit. Make sure your chamber is completely free of solvent, and make sure the bore is completely dry and free of any solvent. Like do not clean it and if you do, run isopropyl patches and then several dry patches. I’ve had two barrels from them speed up like 100fps after 75-100 rounds FWIW. Also I’ve had 22 creed barrels and both have been somewhat finicky and aligned closer with hogdon/Peterson data rather than what dudes are posting on the internet. Curious what speeds you’re seeing.

Mine also was from their on hand tikka pre fit, slow ass shipping can't believe it.

That's a sign to not mess with it if you gotta be soo particular to get it to go. And if it is abnormally slow compared to most others, this barrel won't stay here long.
