this is something i could get behind here. nice design, that thing looks tailor made for elk hunting there

I like the pack but what on earth do you take on an elk hunt? I could fit just about every elk hunting accessory I own into a 5000ci bag, and that's all oversized stuff too. For a bag that big I could hunt elk for a month straight without coming out.

Aron, for those of us that do MOSTLY day stuff and 1-2 nighters, would you suggest the Nomad or this? It kind of seems like this one is like the nomad with the camp bag integrated into it rather than added on afterward. Since most of my stuff for 2-3 days would fit in the Nomad with maybe a back pouch I would rarely ever need the huge capacity, so i feel like having the camp bag option would be great if needed vs this always has it. Also I tend to pack most of my meat with the bone in and it seems like the Nomad may be more conducive to that.

I guess my main questions is what is the downside of the nomad and the camp bag vs this besides losing the pockets at the bottom? I am sure the integration is tighter and lighter in the EMRII, but for the few times I would use it I am wondering if it is worth it for my style of hunting.

No talking me out of this one....I'll be getting one on order ASAP. :D

Aron, I know the Nomad does not come with lid options when you order, but what about this pack?? Or do you gotta order that separately? As I'd order one with a Longhunter lid all in highlander.

I don't know anyone hauling 275lbs of elk meat in one load, but I know what you mean. My problem is.........just as you described.......if there's room I'm probably going to fill it.......for on the way in and out. And I'm not getting any younger.:( But this makes me want to check one out just to see the possibilities. Cool pack, Aron. Here I am trying to downsize my pack system and then this comes up and makes me want to supersize it.;)

Looks really good, I really liked the eberle blue widows bat wings for day hunting and this seems like it would be perfect. Now you can have a big bag and a daypack without having to dig through yards of nylon for your stuff.

Also really like the bottle pockets.

Not sure if I'll be able to fund one though... Might have to just stick with the highcamp and make a couple long pocket bat wings.

Well done Aron, Patrick, and the rest of the Kifaru staff! You'll have a very difficult time topping these packs in the near future. I can't wait to get some blood on them.

You guys are just tougher than me! My legs can't carry half a bull, camp, bow and elk rack. 120lbs is about all I want to hike with.

This packs is definately a monster but I'm surprised how small it packs down to.
