My wife and I doubled up on nice birds on opening weekend.

Her bird hung up about 200 yards out for 45 min. I gave him the silent treatment and the poor fella couldn’t stand it. He broke into a run and assaulted my Jake decoy at 6 yards. He finally stood still and my wife gave him the business with her bow.

My bird came about 3 hours later when I spotted a pair of toms on the edge of a field with a single hen. I crawled to the edge of a fence row and busted the closest bird with the shotgun.

Now that we have 2 in the freezer it’s back to archery only looking for good 3 year old birds.

Awesome!
Do the two of you keep hunting journals?
Now would be a superb time to start!

We don’t, but it would be really cool to see her perspective of a shared experience
From experience, ten years down the road you can go back and read your journal and be surprised at the little details you DON'T remember!!
I would willingly share my journal with anyone, IF they could read my handwriting! LOL!
