Tex Creek archery Elk

I am hunting for the first time archery elk in Tex Creek. Using onyx maps, I have researched the little and Big creek mountain area, but am concerned about the number of Atv roads, and resulting pressure.
I would prefer to be hiking in 5-7 miles, but this seems a very small area, with very few large distances between roads
Does anyone have any recommendations ?
I looked at unit 69, but not sure if elk will be on the lower altitude ? (5500')
Thanks

I made the same mistake last year, but you should probably research first then buy the tag. Is it your first archery elk hunt? or just frist time in tex creek? It borders Diamond Creek so there must be giant bulls around every corner right? Thats what i thought too, but the elk apparently know the boundaries. Also if you prefer going in 5-7 miles then you might love tex creek because like packing out a bull 7 miles in, its torture.

Actually, I have been hunting in Diamond Creek the last 3 years ( archery elk) and was spoiled with great elk contact
Like countless others, I was disappointed to see Diamond Creek sold out while I was on hold for a tag.
I tried to research Tex Creek on the internet, but there was little info.
I am flying from CA to scout for 3 days in July, so as to research with " boots on the ground "
