Never been much of an ounce counter, moreso just conscious of what im packing but I finally weighed everything and im curious on all of your opinions where I could shed some weight. If I dont shed any thatd be fine too.

Obvious ones are tripod, sleep system/tent, and Weapon but I'm sure you guys will find stuff I never thought of.

Go!

is 40oz correct for that bag? Seems heavier than I would have thought. If so between the tripod and bag it wouldnt take too much to lose 2lb, maybe even more.

Bag is too heavy
Tent is heavier than you need
Tent pole is insane
Ditch rain/meat tarp- use one UL tarp
Bear spray-no need
Stove is too heavy
Water filter is also a bit much

My bino harness is 8.8 ounces…FHF Pro-M and RF pouch, harness replaced with the Rick Young cords.

Could your rain tarp be your main shelter? Or could your meat tarp double as your rain tarp? If you need/prefer the 4P, I get that. You could ditch the aluminum pole and cut a stick when you get to camp, possibly.

You could get your cook kit down quite bit, but it’d be a less convenient system.

Other stuff - pack, bag, tripod - can be quite a bit lighter, but those are expensive changes.

Ditch the Tripod and glass off a trekking pole.

Emergency blanket (1oz) or two for emergencies and meat care.

The weight seems fine to me - with food you’re only about what, 30% of your body weight? It is interesting finally having weights for everything. If you needed an edge for extra steep country I’d add trekking poles and not worry about the pack weight - they are like shedding at least 10 lbs.

I also pack bear spray and don’t mind the extra weight.

Where and what are the conditions? Do you use trekking poles, I didn't see them. If so you can lash them for the tent pole. Agree the tripod and tent seem overkill. Smartwater bottle is lighter than nalgene and can be used with water purifier.

I know i could get a tripod im satisfied with that would save just about 1.4 lbs so that's on the to do list. I agree the sleeping bag is heavy. Especially for a 30 degree. My other bag is a marmot lithium 0 and weighs the same but this one is roomier. Do you have a bag suggestion for broad shoulder 6'1" 225?

Montana spring bear. I did not list trekking poles as packed weight cause I'll be using them.

A quilt might be worth a try. Definitely more roomy than a bag, more packable and generally lighter. I’m 6’2 200 and I’ve got a 15 degree long Outdoor Vitals quilt. I’ve been very comfortable in the last two years on MT spring bear hunts in late April/early March using it with a 4 R-value pad

Recommendations for these items?
Bag is too heavy-Marmot phsse 30 18oz-This one probsbly won't work for you at your size, but there are better LW options
Tent is heavier than you need-Z packs Altamid 16oz w/10 Nemo Airpin stakes
Tent pole is insane-you're carrying trekking poles
Ditch rain/meat tarp- HMG Flat tarp or REI 10' Nylon tarp 8-10 oz
Bear spray-no need
Stove is too heavy- Titanium cup/BRS stove/lighter/full can stuffed together @ 10oz IIRC
Water filter is also a bit much-Katadyn BeFree 2oz + UL 6L bag @ 3oz

Saves 94 oz. I usually ditch the Nalgene for one of the large Gatorade bottles, saves an oz an a half I think

If you need a really roomy bag feathered friends has some good options. A few even roomier than this, although you start adding weight back in pretty quick. Based on your size this should be fine if not roomy. 30oz for a 30/long. They also make an UL version that sheds another couple oz for an extra $100. Imo these are the best bags money can buy. You can easily go lighter if you get a narrower bag, so maybe measure what you can get away with and still sleep.

My reasoning for tent pole is I typically leave my tent pitched throughout the day/hunt and my trekking poles double as shooting sticks. I think the answer for solo trips is the argali rincon 2p pitched with a single trekking pole

Curious also on your thoughts of not taking spray?

ditch tent pole
A durston X-mid 2p is 29oz for the fly only. It's a trekking pole tent, but I can usually find a place to pitch with at least one side tied to a tree, or I'll leave it pitched during the day with only one pole and take the other. or just cut/break a stick
A 30° down quilt would shave a lot of weight, check out hammock gear burrow.
Kuiu pro lt pack is 66oz saving 25oz. on pack
Carabiner for what?
ditch tarp, use tent or tarp, not both
Seperate your rifle to see kill kit total weight
