Tarp and Bivy Set Up

New models of the MLD Solomid was just announced:

Looks pretty slick. I'm actually eyeing that new silpoly version that's only about 3 oz heavier than the DCF version. I'm wondering how much that will run.

Depends on where you hunt and camp, but the argali’s have a big foot print. Can’t get them up where space is tight. Something like slingfin tarp has a smaller footprint.

The Owyhee is smaller. I almost picked that one up with my BlackOvis rewards right before they went out of business.

Yeah. DCF is a little rich for my blood anyways. Especially with only a couple ounces saved. If I’m using a bivy tarp setup it’s early season and I will be running light on other things anyways.

I can understand why it’s so expensive- in the case of the MLD it’s 50% weight savings. But to your point, unless I’m sheep hunting I’m not getting that far down on cutting weight.

I’m curious why the MLD would only be considered 3 season vs the argali being a 4 season, but I guess the only way to figure that out is a late season rifle.
