Adding a footer to my arrow, but have heard some "good luck shooting those things into a bag" comments. So, begets my question, what target are you all using if you're shooting a footer?

I would get a Matrix. By far the best foam style target I have used. Footers, outserts and bags don't mix.

Chamfer the ends and you will not have any problems. Also the matrix is an excellent target.

Yeah, that was my comment....try it for awhile and you tell me if they aren't harder to pull and cause more destruction of your targets.

Of course you have to bevel the back....I can tell you it sometimes helps to smooth a little epoxy ramp in there too....and of course Arrow snot type stuff helps.

Ya, and with all that chamfering, and smoothing, and whatever else.......you still want a balanced true spinning arrow. Good luck with that.

As far as targets go.......I tried a bag target for the first time about 10 years ago......and hated it regardless of what arrows I was shooting. I have a 48"x48" Block target, a 24" Blob target, and a Rinoblock.

I find that rotating an Injection with a Firenock outsert will quickly free it for removal when it is hung up on a Morrell Range Target (bag type). Good luck with your footers.

The best targets on the planet....bar none- are the Morrell bag targets. You can shoot thousands of arrows in them...change the cover, redistribute the innards a little...and shoot a bunch more. So easy to pull your arrows....but the footing can complicate things, IME.

I've shot the footed arrows into those...... but its a learning curve and you have to get those footers just right and super smooth.

I had the same problem with bag targets with footers, just ordered a big boy archery target. Hopefully it will hold up well being outdoors 24/7

I've shot footed arrows since '15 into any and all styles of targets with no real issues. they pull easier from my rinehart and 3d targets. on a bag they occasionally hang just slightly but it is about 1% more effort to get them out, to me, not a big deal.

I've always loved bag targets. I think mine is 17 years old now and on cover number 4? I hate to think how many arrows have been shot into it

I shoot footer on any arrow I use HITS..so most everything except ACCs.
Right now I have a Blob, two Rhinoblocks and a Morrell bag target and no issue with any of them.
