No photo, but my son's smallish mule deer buck was a little low and forward. 108 ELDM broke onside humerus, through bottom of chest cavity, broke offside humerus. No bullet recovered. Impact velocity was 2250ish.
130 TMK out of an 18” 6.5 Creedmore at roughly 90 yards, ~2650 fps impact. Mule deer buck.
Hit back edge of onside shoulder, broke the scapula AND the humerus. Then destroyed a rib. Then clipped the offside rear shoulder, blew apart the humeral head into 3 pieces. Found the bullet lodged in offside hide.
Similar results as above, 130gr TMK 1686fps. On side humerus direct hit, ruined grapefruit size area of meat, off side leg just missed humerus lemon size meat loss, didn't open animal up. Immediately terminal shot was neck/spine leaving lemon size hole side to side. Zero yards travelled.
I don’t know the full story as I wasn’t there, but I did roll the ammo. 300wsm pushing 208eld-m at high 2600’s iirc from a 22” barrel. This was one of those “unnecessary (but necessary) follow up shots.” Shot distance was under 100 yards. My directions to him were to keep them off the shoulder. Sometimes a fella needs to learn a lesson first hand I suppose.
