Talk me out of a tikka

Looking to pick up a tikka t3x lite in 6.5 creedmoor. The 6.5 is set in stone, but talk me out of the tikka and into another gun. I want something fairly light ideally under 7#s. Will mainly be fire target shooting, out to 1000 yards, but that will be infrequent. Will occasionally hunt whitetail and whenever I decide to go after mulies and antelope. Most likely will be topped with a credo. Budget is under $1k.

What's there to be talked out of? Just pair it with Sportsmatch T084 or UM Tikka rings and shoot it. This saves the weight of a pic rail.

Talk you out of it on Rokslide?? Haha. Pretty soon, you will have a rokstock on it and either a nightforce or trijicon scope on it.
If you ever see a guy packed in 10 miles, I bet he will have a rokstock tikka wearing a trijicon.

I have one, boringly accurate. You could buy something else and tinker and spend money on it to get it up to par with the Tikka if you would like...........or just get the Tikka.

I have a 6.5 factory tikka awaiting a rokstok. I cut to 18” and all I can say is it makes damn tight groups with factory ELD-Murders. You won’t look back..

I bought a Howa 30-06 for my first rifle, but bought and shot my wife’s .270 lite veil Tikka T3X shortly after. After shooting the .270 I liked the Tikka so much I eventually sold the Howa and got a Tikka for myself.

Here is a 6.5 ss tikka cut to 16.5 cerakoted and threaded 1/2x28, it will wear a credo and a harvester evo… and a rattle can paint job I’ll report back when I figure out what flavor of eld’s it likes

There’s nothing to talk you out of. The action is twice as smooth as the much more expensive custom action I have.
