Been itching to get my name on the waiting list for a Thunderchild for a while now..
I picked mine up couple years ago and recently have started shooting traditional more and more. Got mine from another guy that had it posted on bowsites leatherwall, I think is where I got it... Anyways just saw another one in there yesterday. Got a good deal on mine. Called Big Jim, told him the serial number off the limb and he told me all the details about it. Excellent service even picking it up used.

I shot 3 piece recurves (Robertson) for many years, never liked the idea of a 3 piece longbow. No reason why just a personal thing. However, I have been shooting a A&H three piece now for three years. ABSOLUTELY love it! Great shooting bows, from a great guy!

I bought a used, repaired fox longbow. It delaminated in the handle, but was professionally repaired and the bowyer who did the repair said it should be stronger than ever. It's relatively heavy for me, being a 55# @28 kind of guy forever, at 62@25". I damaged my rotator cuff and labrum a few weeks after receiving it, and just started shooting two years later last weekend. It shoots beautifully and hits really hard.

That bow is a beauty Carl but it's not real sporting when you probably just drove over to Nixa and picked it up! ;)

That's purdy!!! Browsing the all the classifieds I can find. I might be able to sell some stuff to find another bow. Seems a lot of stuff is only 45-50# @28... So with my TRex arms that'd be like 40# lol.

I'm the exact opposite. With a 31"+ draw length those mid 40# bows feel pretty good to me lol

My next bow is going to be a two piece takedown, either a Poison Dart from Buddy Gould or a Toelke Whip. I just bought a used one piece Whip, like it a lot but isn't as forgiving as my 3 piece Dryad but I think a take down with a bunch of phenolic in the riser might be a little more forgiving

I asked my Bowyer about the Whip, he knows Toelke and has a lot of experience. He said the same thing about forgiveness. And the man was an expedition shooter and only hunts with a longbow for 60 years...

Anyone shoot Bama bows or Great Northern?

I'm a longbow guy too.
I am a fan of 2 piece. No bolts to mess with .
I like the Javaman Elkheart.

Roy Hall of Navajo Bows makes a really nice 2 piece. His design doesn't require you to use grip material to cover where the two pieces meet. I have all of the models that he offers and own the Caddo. Either his Apache longbow or the Diamond recurve will be my next bow.

If I were looking for a takedown longbow I would say for me there are two that I like a lot and after 20 years and owning many bows I like the a&h three piece bow, and the centaur. Both are amazing fast for a longbow and I like being able to change limbs on the acs

Another vote here for th A&H ACS, it's the one longbow I really took a liking to and didn't have to sacrifice performance in comparison to a recurve.

My next and hopefully last (ha!) bow will be a 2 piece Toelke Whip. I have a one piece and love it.

I'm thinking my next bow will be a 2 piece longbow.

How would you fly with a one piece? A waste claiming that as one bag....

Yeah, flying with a one piece these days is a pain. Mailing your bow ahead is a viable option, assuming you can find someone to receive it.
