Tacoma 4G

Still in love with mine. Have had every gen, this is my favorite so far.

I test drove the Ranger and they are very nice trucks as well, that was my second choice but they were more expensive all things equal. All the tremors around me are over 65-70k. Way to much for a 1/4 truck.

Driving both is very similar, but as someone mentions every time, I’m a fanboy lol. I stick to one brand for the most part and have no regrets!

Been in the market for a new truck/SUV for quite a while now. Getting out of a '22 F150 and don't necessarily need a full sized half ton. Test drove a lot of vehicles this time around. Settled in on a '26 Tacoma off road long bed. After testing out a few 3G, low mile tacos and then the 4G it was pretty clear that the 4G was what I was looking for. Should be delivered to the dealer in a few weeks. Excited to get into a new truck for this summer.

Is there a site that can search for specific trims? The Toyota site will list similar trucks but not exact models.
I’m looking for a 6 speed with the TRD premium package. And maybe the sway bar disconnect

Back to the OP’s topic, I didn’t know the ranger didn’t have a mt. But seriously go drive one. Best way to describe that 2.7 twin turbo and 10sp transmission is punchy but smooth.
The only new truck sold in America with a manual since 2024 is the Tacoma. Jeep stopped making the Gladiator with a manual in 2025.

I have heard Toyota did a bad job with gearing the manual 4th gens. I'm happy with my 3rd gen manual. I miss a manual transfer case though, and I installed a 2Lo mod for backing trailers because reverse is too tall.

Load capacity is a joke, but that holds across small trucks.
