T3x In .30-06 Recoil/Scope Bite

Appreciate all of the feedback! Now I have my eye on an (also on sale) Sauer 100 in 6.5CM - base/rings suggestions? I assume the Sauer in .30-06 wouldn't fair any better..about the same weight.
Does this happen to be the Sauer listed at 48% off? I have been eyeing it up myself with that price haha.

I shoot a S&W 1500 in 30-06. My wife shoots a Tikka T3 also in 30-06. We both can do range days with these guns seeing 30-40 rounds per day. The T3 seems to kick a bit more though. I am switching to the old 308 Win cartridge though.. in a CZ557 with a brake that makes for a very light recoiling rifle, albeit a bit loud to those beside me. The old S&W 1500 is going to be restored and turn into a bit of a safe queen. Not too many S&W long guns in my area.

The dirty little secret about tikka is the stock geometry is not the best at controlling recoil. This can be a big deal or nit depending on how you handle the rifle, or how sensitive you are to recoil. The good thing is they are a great value in other ways so many shooters swap stocks on them. If you are recoil sensitive and want to shoot something with a little more recoil plan on doing some upgrades to a tikka.

I have a t3x in 30-06, and if I'm shooting factory Federal Fusion 165s, its really pretty mild. But my "Elk" load is a 175 LRX at 2750, and she's a handful without a break or can. Solution? Get a gen 2 tikka and put a can on her :)

EDIT: I also neglected to mention that you should try and find a scope that meets your needs but also pay attention to the eye relief. I have a 2-10x42 Viper HD (specs say 3.4" eye relief) and it goes on my 6.5 Creed. But the 3-15 VX5 feels a bit more comfy (specs say 3.7-3.8" of eye relief).
