T3x In .30-06 Recoil/Scope Bite

Appreciate all of the feedback! Now I have my eye on an (also on sale) Sauer 100 in 6.5CM - base/rings suggestions? I assume the Sauer in .30-06 wouldn't fair any better..about the same weight.
Does this happen to be the Sauer listed at 48% off? I have been eyeing it up myself with that price haha.

I shoot a S&W 1500 in 30-06. My wife shoots a Tikka T3 also in 30-06. We both can do range days with these guns seeing 30-40 rounds per day. The T3 seems to kick a bit more though. I am switching to the old 308 Win cartridge though.. in a CZ557 with a brake that makes for a very light recoiling rifle, albeit a bit loud to those beside me. The old S&W 1500 is going to be restored and turn into a bit of a safe queen. Not too many S&W long guns in my area.

The dirty little secret about tikka is the stock geometry is not the best at controlling recoil. This can be a big deal or nit depending on how you handle the rifle, or how sensitive you are to recoil. The good thing is they are a great value in other ways so many shooters swap stocks on them. If you are recoil sensitive and want to shoot something with a little more recoil plan on doing some upgrades to a tikka.
