Pretty crazy news that T-Mobile will off this to Verizon and AT&T customers for $20 a month after the beta period ends in July.

So it's free to use until July, then 20$ a month after?

Will this just let people text with no cell service, or calls too?
Think you have to sign up and be selected as a Beta until July from what I read, after that it’s open to all.

Says only texting for now.

Pretty savvy move on T-mobile's part. This ought to give Verizon and ATT a sense of urgency to get this going on their end, or risk losing customers.

I switched 2 months ago from Verizon just because of this. So far so good testing the satellite texting. I don't know that it will completely replace InReach/Zoleo yet, but dang close.

How is T-mobile service these days? I'm about wore out with Verizon pricing.
Service is about the same..Tmo actually bought the old VzW 700MHz spectrum, it propages better, just not the same band width.
Site hardening isn't the same, most Tmo sites only have a 48hr battery back up...VzW uses 48hr battery back up and 48hr run time on external gen.

We are in some kind of T-Mobile twilight zone at our house and it flat out does not work. Everybody that comes to our house with T-M is baffled as we don't live that far from anything.
