It would be real neat if SWFA say maybe put some info out there.

Of course- their lack of response and information is comically stupid. However, it doesn’t help to add misinformation into the issue.

I am less upset at SWFA for their lack of openness than I am that there is no other company willing to fill the void. The other companies just think that people that want SWFA type scopes- reliable, durable, simple, and designed correctly, and affordable- are stupid or ignorant. They don’t care to service that market, or they are so ignorant they believe the market doesn’t exist. They would all rather chase each wizzing in the PRS pool.

Yes, it is ridiculous that SWFA isn’t being more open- it’s also the markets only option.

1000 or 10 doesn’t matter.
Zero answers over a 2 year period on a “lifetime” warranty item ain’t good.

No- it isn’t the way they should have handled it. Do you have another scope company option to move to instead of SWFA?

To fill the exact 6x or 3-9 FFP void? No.
To fill the void with some sacrifices that I can live with? Trijicon.

Sure- there are lots of sacrifices that can be made.

But, Trijicon- nor anyone else; makes a sub $700 durable/reliable FFP mil/mil scope with all around usable reticle? Or a $300 mil/mil option at all?

amazing so many are bitching about these bragged about amazing scopes.....perhaps they just ain't what they are bragged up to be.....seems to me much is lacking with this company. I wouldn't buy one even if they are cheap...cheap and junk are usually one and the same. Keep bitching guys, while I keep killing shit with my Leupolds.

The Maven RS3 4-20 may fill that void. I know its right at 700, but if it turns out to be durable then it its one more option.

A few people have made comments that "Roksliders" probably make up a very small portion of SWFA sales. I find that laughable. No "normal" hunter is buying a 3-15 SWFA for $650 when they can buy a Leupold VX3 or a Vortex whatever for similar money. Normal people will buy those two WAAAAY before SWFA.

I would bet that Roksliders and readers of similar forums ARE the SWFA customer base for the most part.
The older hunters around me that recognize the SWFA name only know of the SS scopes origin as Tasco branded and associate their quality with $50 Tascos.
From my follow up questions, local mom and pop shops used "they are made by Tasco" to steer customers to higher profit margin scopes.

They are bitching because they didn’t get what they were hoping for which is models and esthetic… not performance. They are bragged about because of the fact they are not junk yet very affordable.
It’s not hard to actually read the comments and see what the complaints are about.

Did they do anything to compensate you? Honest question.
That scope would never hold zero. Drive 10 miles on a dirt road and it would be off by 4”. By the time I figured out what was going on, they were out of the scope business.

No option for store credit? Binoculars? Camera? That’s a crappy deal.

There is nothing Nikon makes that I want anymore. I think the point is that everything can break. The SWFAs are less likely to break than anything you can get for under $1000. If a $300 SWFA scope breaks and they don’t warranty it, I am not out much. As much as I think they’ve been dumbasses over the last 3 years, I’d rather have a scope that I can count on than a Nikon, Leupold, or anything else in three times the price range.
