SWFA website updated; More to come in 2024

Shifting to the center screw turrets on the standard SS, with a zero stop, is a really nice change IMO. I will be interested to see how the 3-9HD gen2 changes. I must say, if they just have larger turrets/caps and a zero stop, but otherwise remain the same, the Gen1 3-9 with the smaller turrets and 20oz weight remains a goldilocks in the scope world for price/reticle/function/weight/FFP/size.

The gen2 3-15, if durable and not too bulky with the smaller turret option, is a very appealing 'do all' option for the price if needing new. Though I wish it had the reticle with bold diamonds and .07mil croshair thickness.

The power zoom is backwards on the 3-15 that’s f-ing stupid as heck.
Why make a damn scope backwards of everything else produced?

With there lack of support I have lost faith, if you order a scope you should order 2 so you can warranty yourself.

They have shown so little support that I should probably eliminate my two 5-20s

Or spend 300 bucks on a scope that will most likely never have an issue. It’s not a Vortex, the warranty isn’t the most important feature.

Most likely and never have an issue are 2 different things.

They definitely are some of the most proven.
But if you do have trouble you completely up shit creek.
It doesn’t take 2 years for Asia to make a scope, period. There is absolutely zero reason for the back orders or to redesign the product until the back orders are filled.

Something is up with swfa, that’s all there is to it.
And how exactly am I supposed to order this mythical $300 scope that works?
The 6x doesn’t exist. It’s mythical

There is absolutely zero reason they should have had to wait in production this long. And to have zero Eta
Asia standard lead time is 36 weeks and the manufacturer knows there schedule and gives you an eta.

And why in the world would they ask for 10x first when they are sitting on back orders and warranty claims for 6x

Swfa is straight punking you fan boys.

They also require a deposit to start production in most cases with the rest due on completion.

Full speculation as I don't have inside knowledge of their finances but the tea leaves read: The larger business that SWFA was doing selling all brands nearly tanked the company. It took them a couple years to restructure the company and pay off debts with their suppliers to get production moving again on the one viable part of their business, SWFA scopes.

When one of the Maven crew said he was afraid to sit on scopes they lost me as well.

You are a damn business. Do business stuff.
Explain why saga would be so absolutely stupid to put 10x in front of 6x or 3-9 with the limited capital they may have.

No excuse except for stupid bad business.

I have no understanding on this stuff works, but maybe they ordered 10 times as many of the 6X and 3-9Xs and have not gotten them yet.

I do like the scopes and try to keep +1 in reserve on the models I use. I'm good except for a 6X.

I'm happy to give them time because I have a BDC ultralight and 3-9 NIB in reserve, but I'd be real annoyed if I was waiting on a warranty replacement for as long as some. I'll wait and see how it all shakes out.

There is the possibility that this forum prefers different scopes in their line than the larger customer base. Most on this forum have zero interest in fixed scopes over 10x (6x really), yet they have sold a pile of 12/16/20x scopes. I’d also bet the 3-15 sells in much higher volume than the 3-9 over all. Rokslide isn’t the center of the shooting demographic.

If they higher volume of sales were the higher power scopes. Why are they pretty much always in stock?

Because they’re the higher volume sellers. So they make more. To capture the market that’s actively buying.

it makes more sense to have ten too many scopes of a scope that sells, than to have 10 too many of a scope that doesn’t.

I’m no economist though.

I get your feelings on SWFA and honestly share them. However, we don’t know all the background behind their decision making. I am trying to give them the benefit of the doubt for a while and see what happens. I’ve said before that I would order 3-4 of their 6x fixed scopes if they come availably again. Those scopes have been so durable and the price is so reasonable that I would not be terribly concerned about long-term customer support. They would also likely last for the rest of my hunting and shooting years.

And for the customers with warranty claims or back orders it just awe F them. We will get to them whenever the F we feel like it?

There straight up punking people man.

Well I can pretty much promise it not that the manufacturer can’t produce them.

It’s that swfa is not ordering them.

There are a pile of assumptions in your post. We have no idea how many scopes of each model SWFA has ordered and sold. All we know is that the 3-9 and the 6x have been the hardest scopes to get from them, while the 10,12,16, 20, 1-4, 3-15, and 5-20x have been in stock more. The scopes that have been discussed positively the most on Rokslide seem to have been the 3-9, 6x, and 10x, pretty much in that order.

Do you have inside information to confirm this statement? I have already said that stocking those scopes in quantity would likely be their best business move. But I have to admit that I do not know what their supply-side or costs look like.

You are assuming Rokslide represents their consumer base. I'd imagine that isn't true.
