They put the 3-15 on a little bit of a diet. The manual shows 21oz. Think the gen1 was 24oz

So legitimate question. Old 3-9 didn’t have parallax, that’s what has prevented me from buying to date. Why is the 3-9 so popular with fixed parallax? I’ve personally experienced parallax struggles with other scopes that were fixed parallax.

It saves some weight not having it and I can't remember needing it ever with either of mine for what it's worth. Out to 500 yds

Parallax error isn’t going to be the thing that causes you to miss. If shooting for absolute smallest groups at distance, sure, you might want it. But for hunting at 100-600 yards it’s not an issue. Consistent cheek weld and sight picture are what allow you to shoot a scope with non adjustable parallax. Having fixed parallax is not the handicap it’s made out to be.

I’ve never been that interested in the 3-15 swfa, I have a 2-10 ultralight and the glass quality leaves enough to be desired on the top end that I don’t really want more magnification. In my experience below 10x glass quality matters a lot less than above. Also as mentioned the cost is too close to buying another RS 1.2 or a demo SHV.

The fixed 6x scope is intriguing because it doesn’t have an equivalent on the market and the cost half as much as a 3-15. I’ll order a 6x as soon as they are available. I think I’m currently approaching 20 months on a 3-9hd back order.

I bought the 10X last night since I have a 3-9x back order still. Hopefully they fulfill that and then potentially 3 gen2 models can be tested pretty quick.

You must’ve got a bad one or something. My 2-10 ultralight is very clear and bright on 10x. Others have commented on how good the glass was when they looked through my scope, as well.

More like you got a golden egg. The UL’s always have have image degradation past about 7-8x. I have seen a couple dozen of them and they all have had it. Still a neat scope, but I don’t use them past 8x.

The glass quality is not at all comparable on the UL and the 3-15x FFP. The 3-15x is much, much better and is actually usable at 15x. At least on the newer (last year) 3-15’s- the glass issue is way overblown. I have used 3-4 heavily in the last year and they are very functional and usable scopes.

With the capped turrets now, I’m not sure that the Maven offers $500 more than the SWFA. I do prefer the center dot, but the outer bold posts are much thicker on the MQ.

It’ll be interesting to see if the caps stop the sometimes .1-.3 mil shift from the turrets getting bent.

Agreed. I don't find the 3-15 lacking in legal shooting time. I've killed a deer with mine at 20 yards and found the reticle plenty good enough.
