Hey all,
Picking up a Weatherby Backcountry Ti and want the ultimate lightweight hunting rig and am wanting some thoughts on scopes. I'm thinking one of the illuminated reticles (HD5-Duplex | HD6 TMOA | Z5i 4w - all with the CDS or BT feature.

For hunting purposes at sane hunting yardages (e.g., 450ish and under) which would you prefer and why? I've owned the non-illuminated VX5HD and been perfectly happy with them (fwiw).

Thanks all,
-M

I have a z5i 2.4-12x50 with plex that is a great scope and good in low light. I'm currently in the same boat as you I was looking at the vx5hd 56mm or 44. I want the ability to dial some and my z5 doesn't have turrets. For what its worth I have a vxr leupold that hangs with z5 at last light and to my eyes the firedot illumination is better than z5 or my eyes prefer it. Was looking at zeiss and meopta also.
