A lot of the high end tactical scopes are FFP. The Swarovski X5 3-18 x 50 looks good on paper and the reticles are SFP.

Has anyone run the X5i? I like the 4W and 4WX reticle.

I had two of the X5 3-18x50 (non-illuminated), one of them had the 4WX reticle and the other had the BRM reticle. The one with the BRM reticle had to go back to Swaro for failure. It stopped tracking/adjusting properly and stopped holding zero. That particular scope/rifle was a safe queen. The one with the 4WX reticle saw heavier use and minor inadvertent abuse and never had any issues. Ultimately I swapped them out for FFP mil/mil scopes. If all you care about is glass/low-light performance there isn't a scope I've looked through that performs better (anything Leupold, Tangent Theta, Nightforce ATACR included; never seen a ZCO to compare though). If you want them to be reliable and durable, well one of my 2 failed. However, I'm pretty sure @Ryan Avery has used/abused the X5 and could give you a better durability/reliability eval than me.

I’ve watched a couple videos on how to adjust zero on the elevation turret. A tad bit of over-engineering if you ask me. Also it appears that tool provided is a must have at all times. Interesting.

Yes the tool provided is needed to reset the turret once the rifle is zeroed. I didn't see that as a huge issue honestly.

Ryan brought over an X5 and the three people including him all saw quite a difference between it and the Minox ZP5.

That same scope shifted quite a bit from side impacts…

I've never used the Minox. What was the consensus between it and the X5 in glass quality? Just curious. I no longer put a premium on "glass" though.

I'm not terribly surprised by this.

Every single element is better on the Minox- resolution, brightness, color contrast, CA control. Granted it was a sample of one, however the Minox is the only scope I’ve used that has struck me on the glass quality, and I’ve used everyone mentioned in this thread save the ZCO.

The Minox is a FFP. Trying to find the ultimate SFP hunting/shooting scope that has a low power around 3x.
