Swaro EL vs Pure

So looking at new binoculars. How much difference in light gathering capability would there be between a pair of EL 10 x 50's vs the NL pure 10 x 42?? Close in price..somewhat but the El's have a 5mm vs 4.2 eye pupil diameter. I know there is lots of difference in field of view. But old eyes need more light so thats my main focus in getting a new pair of binoculars.

I just did a TON of research... I bought a pair today of nice used 10x50 EL SV and saved the $1000 for other stuff. If money wasn’t an issue, I would of bought the 10x42 NL’s as they’re very close to light gathering, but better FOV and a little better glass and way better in hand feel. Light gathering isn’t everything and the 10x42 NL is no slouch.

Get the 8x42 and you win exit pupil and fov!

I haven't looked through them both but I can't imagine that the NL Pure 10x42 would beat out an EL 10x50.
