Been considering getting a pair of Swaro NL Pure 10x32 binoculars.

Presently have 11 yr old SV 10x42 EL binoculars in excellent shape (and 20 year old Leica Ultravid 8x32 pre-HD).

Any comments on how they might compare for 72 year old eyes? I still back country hunt…have a Mt Caribou trip with Gana River in the NWT coming up in August this year. And use the present 10X glass (heavy) for open country hunting and 8X Leicas (light) for hiking and tighter cover hunting.

Virtually all my hunting big game is with the bow.

I’ve never seen a pair of the NL 10x32’s but may have a chance at the upcoming P&Y convention in 2 weeks if any dealers are there.

Thanks in advance!

PM responded to. Buy the 10x32 NL’s. They’re a big upgrade for your use case. Larger fov, lighter weight, much better ergonomics. They are a joy to use.

I went from 10x42EL's to 12x42 and 8x32 NL's. For my eyes, there wasn't much difference in clarity between the EL's and NL's, but as mentioned, the field of view and ergonomics are much better with the NL's. I don't think you'd be sorry going with the NL's, but it's up to you if it justifies the cost.

Just ordered a pair of NL 10x32's from my local Swaro dealer. Looking forward to checking them out during spring bear season coming right up.

Thanks to B_Reynolds and wyosteve for their responses and knowledge.

Got the Swarovski NL10X32 binoculars today. Luckily had 9 California Bighorns in the cliffs a km away tonight to study. The smaller NL10x32s are brighter and sharper than my 11 year old Swarovision EL10x42s. Maybe the old ones are due for a freshening at Swaro? New coatings would likely be worthwhile. Sure am happy with the NLs...will make a great all around binocular for hiking, backcountry hunting as well as tree stand use.
