For the turn around, 3 weeks sounds right with to and from shipping.

They send them off on Thursdays then it takes a week before they ship them back too you, if I'm remembering right.

Why do you need the panner with the Pistol Grip.

I find it a lot easier to make really fine horizontal adjustments while gridding. By using the panner you can set the tension as loose or tight as you want and just nudge the glass over with your nose instead of having to engage the grip. Once you have the glass level it's perfect for that.

Sorry guys, so I used my big pod with the bino adapter for my friends rifle hunt. It left a lot to be desired but got the job done nice 5x5 on day one. I went ahead and sent the ELs off to outdoorsman, I’m gonna run their adapter panner and pistol grip head and a Slik 634 cf pro tripod. I will let you all know what I think of it after my December coues hunt.

I run an outdoorsmans pistol grip with panner on a slik 634. I have found with the round Center post of the 634 I really don't use the panner. You can set the height of the Center post and leave the set screw knob loose and pan nicely. Jmo.

I have the same exact setup, well close, I have the 624 but found exactly what you did with using the center post as the panner, I have since put the Outdoorsmans panner on my KDC Granite Peak Tripod with ball head. The pistol head is too heavy/high to use on the KDC but I found a panner on a ball head really works well.

KDC should really develop a panner and micro pistol grip head that can replace their ball head.
