So I got a pair of swaro 8x42 and 10x42 new here that I’m comparing. I’ve been playing around and after a couple days I thought I liked the “bigger” pair, well the bigger pair is actually the 8x. Weird I checked the specs and yes a bit longer and heavier .
it’s funny that I seemed to like the bigger 8x as I was intuitively pushing for the 10x. But ya know there’s not a lot of difference on magnification but we’ve been having crappy weather for several weeks and the gray skies at dusk are definitely brighter in the 8x.
i think the brightness factor is huge for a guy with aging eyes.
Anyhow I was a bit confused when the larger pair turned out to be 8x and that was after several Rounds of glassing On two evenings.
it’s been snowing and raining for a couple weeks and I would just like to sit out on the deck and glass some of these elk and deer behind the house and make a good decision.
