Suppressor wait times

Bringing this back up. No idea what the new year will bring. Please post your wait timed here!

Oh boy this is juicy. Makes me wonder if the previous wait times were artificially/intentionally long.
I have heard approvals are still pretty quick, but getting them submitted is the bottleneck. The atf automated a lot of the process last year which sped things up. That is paying off now.

Started the process with Silencer Central 12-4-25, seemed to take a long time for them mailing the fingerprint cards to me. Cards arrived at my house on 12-15-25, mailed them back the same day. Received notification from Silencer Central on 12-26-25 that everything was ready to submit, of course that was during the blackout period. Made calls to them for the certification on Saturday Jan 2nd, Monday 5th, and Tuesday 6th result of calls was error submitting to the ATF. Wait times on the calls to talk to a person was from 1 to 1.5 hours, was number 137 on the first call on Saturday called in the afternoon. Was number 117 on Tuesday at 8:05 central time. Called right at 8am on Wednesday started at number 22, paperwork successfully submitted to ATF. Now to see how long until it is approved. Will update when that happens.

It’s the slowest approval I have seen in over a year. Last year, on more than one occasion, I purchased on a Saturday, certified on Monday and pick it up on Thursday. This week it took 45 minutes to just get the certification to go through SS. I lost count how many times I tried and still no approval but I saving money so I’ll stop whining.

I'm torn between waiting for the tech boom to calm down and just picking one up. The Vortex podcast was talking about additive manufacturing and what that might bring.

The Vortex podcast also mentioned UNKNOWN SUPPRESSORS a couple times. If my local shop didn't charge $150 for a form 3, I'd probably have one on order. I think ultimately there will be something that combines the Airlock Industries flow technology with a short reflex that adds volume. Maybe.

Need to share a positive experience with ATF today.
Realized I hadn’t filed my form 5320-20 with ATF when I moved, so I completed the form yesterday and emailed it per their directions last night.
Received a reply email this morning shortly after 7:00 am (Eastern) letting me know I needed to fill out one of the boxes that I had left empty. Emailed back asked for clarification and they replied back with the terminology I should use. Got it added and emailed back in.
Don’t know how long it will take to issue approval of the 5320 but that was surprisingly very helpful.
