Suppressor vs Muzzle Brake for Long Range Hunting

Seems most here are stating what they like to shoot most, not necessarily what is best in the OP’s case.

For shooting alone where spotting impact is important no suppressor made will compare to a good brake.

I shoot both depending on the gun I’m shooting but in terms of the the specific question at hand…..brake wins.

I prefer the recoil reduction of a brake but I also like my cans.
Anything 6.5 prc and below will have a can, anything larger will get a brake.

I think stock design has a big part in spotting impacts as well.

IMO, S]suppress everything. Pistols, SBRs, ELR rifles, everything. Even shotguns, if you can. It should be standard practice for every firearm owner by now.

Brake for watching impact.
Hearing protection is a must but there is no better system to mitigate recoil than a good quality brake. I shoot cans on my 6 and 22 stuff; Brakes on all my big rigs, both .375's have been Magna Ported which is esentially a brake.

At the range, when shooting my braked rifle, I’m just mindful of the other shooters who are trying to enjoy their day too. I’m retired, can shoot during the week ( less crowded) at my private club range. That helps of course. Just trying to remember something some guy said over 2K years ago about doing unto others.
