I am pretty sure that Dead Air doesn't have any barrel restrictions on their 30 cal cans.

Also, the last time I went up to Rugged I asked about how short I could go with my Alaskan, and the response was "Just don't be stupid". Of course the Alaskan, while light, also doesn't have a ton of volume. It is still pretty loud on my 338 Mega, but at just under 10 oz in DT configuration for the non-Ti version, it is a very "easy-use" can and is light years better than a brake on that short-barreled beast.

The rearden direct thread hub rear cap is 0.7oz, believe that's the lightest one I've found.

The one from DDC is also really light at 0.8 oz. It’s a little more utilitarian (no coating), but was $55 last I checked.

Did they specify whether that is with a reflex or flush mounted? Or they wouldn't do it at all??

They didn’t say. In my email to them, I told them I was looking at the 8 stack. I didn’t specify the reflex size though.

I have a Montana 7 WSM enroute and just received my Jolene S. I need to call them and pick their brains on minimum length as 22” seems extremely conservative and way longer than I’d like to be.

I don’t know how to answer that question when it’s my first suppressor.. Only other suppressor I’ve shot was a homemade one (that sucked)


It’s sure as hell quieter than the homemade one! Was surprised how much recoil was cut. It’s an awesome can I intend to use for hunting.

Finally got my 7mm SS back and put together and was able to shoot it with the Nomad TI XC. I’m pretty impressed with the can. The only thing I have to compare though is a yhm resonator K though. Nor surprisingly, the tixc is much lighter and quieter. Can easily shoot without hearing protection for a few shots, and I can shoot in the back yard and not piss off the neighbors too bad. The only thing I’ve noticed is it heats up really quickly. Like after 2 shots I notice mirage. Definitely getting a cover soon. But it also cools down quickly, unlike the stainless resonator k.

You're prob burning what 60+ gr powder from that short barrel, there's a lot of heat and pressure at that muzzle. Cans get hot. Yes covers are essential if you're going to shoot strings of fire, especially in very calm weather.

New guy here- been researching 7mm SS as I'm hoping to put a ELK gun together. I shoot an 18" 6.5 now, and like the profile. Care to share what bullets and velocity you are getting with the 7ss and 18" barrel? Nomad OTB can goes to 16", and only add under 5" to your length. Thanks.

Right now I’m shooting a 175 eldx and vihtavuori n555 powder. I worked up to 57 grains and got 2700 on a pretty fresh barrel. However that load started showing pretty significant pressure signs after a little fouling, so I dropped to 56 grains and am getting around 2650. Shot three deer with it this year and it performed well.
