I'm looking to purchase a reasonably light centerfire can that retains the accuracy of a precision hunting rifle. I had narrowed it down to the Ultra 5/7/9, the Q cans and the Dead Air Nomad and Sandman Ti. After shooting all of them I formed a couple opinions:
Unfortunately I did not get to test for POI shift, freebore-boost or group size. So I'm still conflicted and to add to it a new player has entered the fray. The Gunwerks 6ix has design elements from both Q and TB. It falls in the middle in terms of volume, has a reasonable-looking mounting system, has some modularity with the reducr system and is the least expensive.
Recognizing that it's unlikely that many people have experience with the Gunwerks cans, does anyone have any input, experience or advice?
- The Ultra 5 is awesome, but loud. Even with subs.
- The Ultra 9 is super quiet, but too long to carry for miles in my opinion
- The Nomad sounded great and seems to be made very well, but it's noticeably heavier than the rest.
