Any idea what something like that weighs once installed?

Virtually nothing, leave it on hunting, no metal sounds. Pictures of k after a couple of hundred rounds, 223,243,280,308. No semi auto sustained rapid fire. Bolt guns shoot 30-40 rds then swap to a different rifle. No issues with handling without gloves. No mirage noticed.

I had a LS wild cover come off an OG 6.5. I found it 10 yards in front of me at the range. The muzzle end frayed in multiple spots. No idea what happened or why.

No offense, but I really don’t see how that is possible unless it was on backwards or was the wrong size.

The end is now frayed and tattered and it wasn’t like that before it blew off. My only thought is it started slipping forward and the muzzle blast took off the cover and caused the fraying

I've been doing this to my rifles that bust brush for about 15 years. Such a cheap way to protect them, but now I'm going to have to try it on my supressors.

Burn proof gear are the best, but heavy. The ls wild covers I have(5 or 6) as long you order correct dimensions with the snug rear taper, will not slide in my experience. Lot of rounds tested with both brands, several thousand, from 223 to 300 norma mag. The ls wild cans will show mirage after 10-12+ rounds, the burn proof covers can make it to 20 on some cartridges. A small fan sitting on the bench blowing across the can eliminates this on both.

My sample of 1 LS wild cover is sliding now on the og6.5. I’m sure I could tape up the taper tighter or something to address it.

Might just DIY some welding blanket and tape it on that one..

Are some of the LS wild covers different than mine? Mine couldn’t physically slide forward because it’s tapered and smaller at the rear. Are they sliding backwards towards the action?

Not sure if Form has already mentioned it. After he roasted my suppressor covers he told me to buy this stuff.

Mine is tapered too, just not tight enough to prevent it going forward. I haven’t shot it off, it gets to like 1” overhang on muzzle end before I slide it back. Haven’t shot with it much yet.

I ordered one of these for my ZG6.5. Fit didn’t seem right. It had some overhang and an overall looser fit compared to the one I have on my Omega. I hadn’t shot it yet but emailed Jason regarding the fitment. He sent me out a replacement the same day that fits much better. No way the new one is sliding off.
