Suppressor alignment?

Hello.. I have a 9” suppressor with a 6.5mm end cap for my 16” 6.5 Creed.
Unfortunately, the alignment rod is not perfectly centered.

I measured with a digital caliper, and I have about 0.0175” clearance on the close side.
I’ve rotated the alignment rod, flipped it around and I’ve rotated the rifle but the gap is consistent.

Is 0.0175” acceptable? It looks pretty close, but it’s not touching. I’m new to suppressors so I’m not sure if this could be prone to a strike or cause uneven gas pressure effecting accuracy.

Thanks

Its probably fine. I'd look thru the breach a couple times, and if I dont see anything but daylight, I let it rip.
I have not had a misaligned barrel yet, but it does happen.

@Bubba scrub Curious….. you said .0175 on the close side. What’s the gap on the wide side?
Also what did you use for an alignment rod & did it fit tight? Also what is the length of the rod.

The wide side is about 0.040. I purchased a Kratos suppressor alignment rod that's about 18" long. It fits mostly tight but there is a slight wiggle.

That’s a fair amount out of concentric if it’s the muzzle threads to bore.
It can be corrected if you choose.
It could be the threads on the can & or the end cap bore.
If not just be aware of it if you put other muzzle devise’s on the barrel. Kudos to you for checking!
