Can anybody recommend some really warm gloves/mittens. My hands tend to get really cold and I’ve had a hard time finding gloves that will keep them warm other than just carrying a whole bunch of hot hands.

Outdoor Research makes great gloves and mittens. Expensive but their lifetime unconditional warranty makes it a good investment in my opinion.

Based on all the other suggestions and prices I ordered some of the EE mittens the 4.0 ones so hopefully they get here before rifle season, 2 week lead time according to their website

I went the custom route too, gun seasonhere starts on the 15th so I’m hopeful that there is enough time

Following up on this, as I am looking for a cold weather glassing mitt solution. How have you found the EE Strongholds to be? How cold have you had them out in? I see they now have a 6oz fill option so would probably be opting for this as my hands run cold.

Anybody else have experience with how these hold up in very cold glassing conditions? Would be interested to know how well they shed wind too.

Yes can’t speak to durability yet, but I did take them out in some below 0 temps and with a liner I was fine.

I'm a huge fan of the Outdoor Research MT Baker Mitts. I will later that over a Sitka Traverse Glove if I need something warmer.

I’ve tried lots and lots of gloves and mittens. For really cold sessions of inactivity, I use OR Alti Mitt. Best I’ve found. Black diamond guide gloves, guide finger mitt and mercury mitt are also very good as are gloves by Hestrel. For cool but not cold temps I have found Kryptek gloves to be very good - warm and durable. But first lite and Sitka make good options too. I haven’t tried the kuiu knes.

I have some neoprene gloves called polar paws that keep me warm . they won't keep your hands dry , but they will keep them warm. sort of like a wet suit. used them snowmobiling for years,

and they are thin enough you can still shoot or work your binos with them on.

ain't worn mittens since kiddy garten
